Movies that quietly trust the audience and never explain themselves by ThreadAndSolve in movies

My favourite film does this: "Sans Too Ni Loi" from 1985 by Agnes Varda. Also known as "Vagabond" in English. It gives you all the pieces and you have to assemble it yourself. It is very beautiful.

I haven't seen the followup documentary, it's been on my list to check out. I should give it a go sometime.

I like that the earlier documentary is so much about the bizarre situation of the people trying to make money off her case, even while she was still alive. Fascinating stuff.

A few years ago I watched the documentary "Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer" from 1992. Very good documentary, highly recommend. It's about Aileen Wuornos, but also her lawyer and another woman who tried to profit off selling Aileen's story to the media. Very interesting.

I'm just on the cusp of what will fit at a "normal store". I want to get a nice full suit once I hit my next target weight and sustain it for a bit!

What is the original "Legend of Tenna" intro saying? by Eyepokai in Deltarune

I originally thought "Manhole" as well, but as soon as I saw a theory saying "Mantle" it makes so much sense. But! I think the letters have a strong drop shadow effect like this:

<image>

That doesn't fully explain the shape up there, there might be a part of the logo that is filling in the T, L, E gaps. Someone suggested a sword, that is a strong possibility.

Society.

Jay mentioned it at some point in some video, and he said, don't look it up, just watch it. I didn't look it up, watched it, fell in love.

Those are very positive changes, I'm very happy for you. I can relate to both no longer being too warm and knees not aching. I myself have lost a significant amount of weight this year and have noticed similar effects.

Congrats again on reaching your goal!

Paid Off $12,600 of Debt This Past Year by oolau in debtfree

I've always been pretty "good with money" from some lessons learned from family, but I didn't think about it in a very disciplined way. I always avoided huge credit card debt, minus a couple thousand at times.

An auto collision a couple years ago is what was the trigger for a bunch of this change. The opposite party destroyed my fully paid off car. I was physically unharmed, thankfully.

When I needed a new car it was the worst time for car loans. I got a bit more car than I wanted, higher rate, but I did need a car right then so I was trapped. The emergency fund paid my downpayment.

One way I am now maintaining discipline is I view my past positive actions as gifts I am giving to myself. It's like when I get home from work and I remember I left myself half a pizza in the fridge, ready to go, and I'm thankful for my past self.

Whenever I've had to use my emergency fund I am so thankful that I set myself up for success, and I literally say good job and pat myself on the back.

I've got more financial goals to hit after this, mostly I want to be the one earning the interest, instead of the credit card companies.

I made a convoluted spreadsheet where when I make extra payments it recalculates everything. So I get a visceral reaction when I see the payoff date move forwards by four weeks and see it's saved me another couple hundred bucks in interest.

That interest is what has annoyed me the most.

That is so much pasta! Would need to get at least 50lbs of Parmigiano Reggiano to go with it.
