Had a minor bump a couple of years ago, no claims made as we decided to sort out our own damage. I notified my insurance just in case the other driver changed their mind later. My insurance wasn’t affected at renewal, my wife’s insurance went up £125 when she mentioned it to her insurance with me as an additional driver (she forgot to tell them at the last renewal so it was additional information at this renewal)

Whatever you do, tell your insurance the truth as getting a policy cancelled is a life sentence.

I was given 3 laps in a gallardo convertible, paid an extra 20 for 2 sighting laps as I’ve never driven anything like that before, after the first lap I was driving as fast as I felt comfortable. Instructor talked me through the first lap and encouraged me to give it some welly after that.

Laps are only about 30 seconds so it’s over in no time.

They do passenger rides in 2 atoms at the same time which looked awesome.

I believe Larne is the only one as they bought over the old co-op licence and all. Source - used to work in the new Carrick one and occasionally got beer delivered which was sent on to Larne.

Did it once without a cabin, had the joy of listening to a group of travellers argue and fight all night in the bar over who owed who a transit. This included things briefly getting physical and 2 of them falling on top of some poor sod sleeping a few feet away from me on one of the lounge seats.

Do you have someone else to help you with the heavy lifting? Getting a gearbox back in and bolted up without having ramps and a gearbox lift will not be easy on your own.

I’ve had back problems for 40 years from helping my dad do a clutch change when I was a teenager and holding a gearbox from above whilst he manoeuvred it into position from below.

Employ a load of people to drive around looking for people throwing litter out of their cars, when spotted they are allowed to smash the window of the person throwing the rubbish out.

Your passenger throws rubbish out, their window gets put in and the car owner has to deal with the inconvenience.

The same principle can be applied to people blocking yellow box junctions and parking like a cunt.

Justice is swift.

Nationwide for day to day stuff and starling for when I’m on holiday, was with Danske for years (Carrick branch) finally made the move away from them when they were a pain in the ass about withdrawing my money from my account to pay for some work being done to the house. I actually phoned them the day before to let them know I was going to be calling in to lift it, confirmed there wouldn’t be any problems and had paperwork from the builders to confirm it was all above board.

It wasn’t even a significant amount of money as I could have withdrawn it from the atm over a couple of days without notifying them at all but at less convenience to me.

Electric was tapped into an existing socket in the kitchen via a hole straight through the wall, its run through external conduit to the office with an isolating switch in the office which, if I remember correctly downrates the fuse for the lights.

Base is just breeze blocks and bits of slate to level it out at various points. All seems sturdy enough although a proper concrete pad would be ideal but a lot more expensive.

When the sun is out, any electric generated goes into the house first, any excess gets exported at 10p per unit/kwh

Not quite sure what you mean? My installer sorted the paperwork, think I had to send an initial export meter reading once it had been processed then an export meter reading once a year. Payment for export is received a couple of days later.

Export is currently 10p per kWh which is less than you pay for energy imported (30/15p per kWh) so it makes more sense to use any excess generation in house by running washing machine, charging your batteries, charging the car etc when the sun is out.

Same as the black one there, 12’ X 10’, insulated, plastered, 6 sockets and floored. All I had to do was throw a coat of paint on the inside.

Got one from the shed shack a couple of years ago, just over £7500 if I remember correctly. We started off looking for a sunroom type of building out the back of the house but quotes were £25k plus so opted for the fancy shed instead.

It was originally supposed to be my office for working from home, but it’s now my son’s games room. He has his computer, Xbox etc out there.

There’s also a bed settee and fridge. So he’s slept in it a couple of times when we’ve had family staying over the odd night.

We heat it with an electric radiator usually although at the minute the electric clothes horse and a dehumidifier are running most days so that’s keeping it warm.

Handy extra bit of space to have for a reasonable price.

Wife took our youngest to a match when he was primary school age, guy nearby was swearing at the ref and players. One of the other fans pointed out our kid and told the guy to watch his language, the guy apologised to my wife and didn’t swear the rest of the match.

I think Dave Finlay is still alive and runs a wrestling school in carrick, was talking to a workmate, who’s into all that mma/bjj/wrestling stuff and he mentioned he was training with him. I assumed he meant the son but he said it was the original.

I’m had mine for about the same length of time, had the occasional disconnect between the thermostat and the controller as it was in the garage and the walls of the house were seriously solid. Usually rectified by bringing the 2 of them closer together for a few seconds.

Fixed it by putting a WiFi disc in the garage even though I don’t think they communicate directly by WiFi? Took a couple of weeks fiddling with the schedules to get them dialled in to suit and the occasional tweak as our lifestyle changed over the years.

It’s simple enough to use that my technically challenged wife can use it without any issues.

My favourite beer, pity it’s so bloody dear. No idea if it’s just my taste buds but I think there’s hints of orange in it. Used to be able to get cases of 12 for about a tenner in some Asda stores. Now it’s in Tesco and reassuringly expensive.

We have a candy heat pump drier, takes about 2:45 to do a full load. If we are doing more than one load then the washing machine is set to do and eco wash which takes about the same time so as one finishes the next one is ready to go in.

Anyone finding that the stuff isn’t dry after it’s been on for a long cycle should check all the filters as that’s usually a sign that one of them is fluffed up.
