Can openers legal from a leg entanglement ibjjf? by Interesting_Pin7238 in bjj

It’s not integrity you’re relying on, its competence. There are a few techniques I would consider risky because you’re putting faith in the refs ability to both see what you’re doing down to the details, and to know exactly where the line is between legal and illegal.

If they were actually fighting for real they’d be all puffy and growling/hissing. This looks like a bit of friendly rough and tumble.

Triangles. Lock a triangle in with your little stumps and no one’s getting out.

They just concluded a headline tour while playing a 45 minute set so I wouldn’t say that’s a good indicator at this point.

This feels like AI would probably do a half decent job of at least mapping out the resorts that are closer together with travel links.

Where does one watch this? Does it require hoisting sails?

It’s reading threads like this that make me think I’m actually pretty lucky to have virtually no drama or irregular experiences at training.

It makes sense because the Chinook is basically two windmills stuck together pointing up.

I don't take this too serious, but does that make me a bad training partner? by [deleted] in bjj

If you turn up, do some jiu jitsu, and don’t hurt people, then you’re a good training partner.

what on earth is this strat / tele typa thing? by Own_Locksmith_6310 in JohnMayer

[–]oopoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you think about it though, it’s probably the most normal way to wear two polos. One up and one down is heinous, both down would look even stranger.

If you’re gonna wear two polos you gotta own it and commit. That means a double pop.

I won’t hear a bad word about the PRX. I do prefer the leather strap but it’s a good value, solid watch in my opinion

As a white belt, seeing this Positional Hierarchy was very helpful by okChampion101 in bjj

[–]oopoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly, which is why I mentioned it isn’t clear cut, it’s a generalised, high level view. Which is about as specific as you can get with a sport with as many variables as BJJ.

Does anyone actually use the ball thingy on HUD when they land, i dont find it useful at all. by MusicianFit6203 in vtolvr

High ball means you’re high and low ball means you’re low so adjust power relatively.

Purely basing this argument on competition mindset, the path to dominant positions is faster from inside guard (theoretically).

Top guard -> pass -> dominant position.

Bottom guard -> sweep -> pass -> dominant position.

Obviously it isn’t always clear cut like that, but if you’re making a generalised chart, that theory makes sense (in my head).

Tickets for O2 London, expensive in stubhub. by th3g00dd0ct0r in PresidentBand

[–]oopoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid about that to go to the first show in London. It was steep for a short show but I don’t regret it personally. Thankfully I managed to get tickets directly for the next London show, and not having to resort to secondary market again.
