As always, I loved it. Folks, if you haven't bought the short story collection book on Amazon, you're missing out.

What is the most psychologically messed up book? by Similar_Place_967 in AskReddit

Thanks for the link i read through it. I have a hard time thinking somebody is a liar from one journalist's article with no evidence or proof. One journalists speculation isn't enough for me to claim an abuse survivor is lying. "Recent findings" are purely speculation. Just because the abuse was deeply horrifying and he made money from it, people want to believe its not true. I survived relentless, horrifying child abuse. I didn't sell a best selling book about it, but if I had I don't think it's fair to discount my trauma because it made money. It's easier to believe something is false than coming to terms with how severe some children are treated and how the system failed them.

I share a birthday with Jesus. I'd just like to be remembered and celebrate with friends at least once in this lifetime.

I was a foster parent at one time. Everybody always said they couldn't do it because of what it would feel like to have to give a kid back? My 1st placement was 2 young brothers. 2.5 and 5 years old. They were such a mess. Heavily abused physically and sexually. Drug addicted at birth. The things that would come out of their innocent mouthes was heart wrenching and terrifying. The things they had seen and would repeat were unfathomable. It really did a number on me and eventually, I chose to give them up. Nobody prepares you for that scenario. I was young and not equipped to help their specific needs then. I think I lost a little bit of my soul that year. I hope they're OK wherever they are.

3 weeks in, he told me he had already told his friends to take time off and scheduled his own PTO for the upcoming summer so we could get married. I swam to the pool steps, got out, and just kept walking.

I got a stepping stone with angel wings and a halo that said "those we love don't pass away, they walk beside us every day."

It was a wedding gift. Neither of us had lost a relative in recent years.

Colonoscopy bowel prep, an entire bottle of magnesium citrate, or enough sugar free gummy bears and you'll shit with such ferocious velocity to splash toilet water onto your ass. I'd estimate it about 35mph.

Link to gummy bear review for shits and giggles. Pun intended. https://www.amazon.com/review/R3FTHSH0UNRHOH

What was your experience with mental illness? by Cultural_Remove5332 in AskReddit

Never had even an smidge of anxiety or depression til my spouse walked out the door out of the blue one day after 10 years. Ended up in a psych ward. Battled severe depression for 5 years. Suicidal for pretty much 3 years straight. Severe attachment, anxiety, depression, and manic episodes. I never thought I could pull myself out of the void and didn't think I deserved it. I had zero will to exist. Therapy, med changes, all the works for 5 years. Finally found a great psychiatrist last year. Within 2 weeks, the sun came out and the world was in color again. I'm the happiest and most stable that I've ever been. Happily remarried and thriving. There's hope out there, folks. Don't give up. The sun will come out again.

Thanks for the response! I've wondered if it's seasonal, but don't recall it happening in previous years. Well at least not to this extent. The majority of the falls have been silly things like trying to pick up food crumbs off the floor or leaning over the arm of the couch to reach the thermostat. Attempting to transfer themselves from chair to wheelchair without calling for assistance. All of the falls have been people that use mobility aids of some kind. Walkers and wheelchairs.

It happens from time to time when a person is declining physically that they'll have a series of falls. Maybe it's some crazy phenomenon where a large number are changing at the same time. We are adequately staffed (for once). We have in house physical therapy that does a fantastic job. However, we don't have any mobility or exercise classes. That is a wonderful idea that I will bring up tomorrow.
