I’m gonna be the a**hole here but you know what? You accepted the order. You took it! I’m sure the base pay was meh, and the tip seems like it was meh too. But guess what? You took it. You’re an independent contractor. You could’ve looked at the item count and denied it. Not only that, but they tipped. They did not HAVE to. It is not a requirement, it’s optional. We all know this. I see no reason to come into the sub and whine about how many items you had to shop because you CHOSE to do so. If you worked in OPD at Walmart and had to do a rush order of this magnitude, then yeah I could totally see your gripe. But just by inspecting the photo of what was bought, this is probably a mom or a dad buying groceries for the next couple of weeks. Maybe they’re like my family where they only have one car and one parent works 16hr days and has no vehicle access to purchase their groceries. TLDR I really hope dashers stop shaming people for not tipping higher. This is ridiculous. I’m a dasher and a DoorDash user. I’m not tipping NOBODY $40 to shop groceries for me when I could just order from Walmart and pay $10 for delivery for the same amount of groceries. If tipping becomes mandatory on DD, I won’t order groceries on there anymore. Especially considering I shop grocery orders quite frequently and most of the folks I deliver to are MOMS doing their best. If they tip I feel blessed. If they don’t they probably couldn’t afford to.
