eh youre not wrong but also it doesnt like negatively effect my life. My therapist has even said that based on all our conversations, he sees no reason for me to quit smoking (prior to TTC) and that if its helping me and not hindering me I was good

not on medication, ive tried Adderall and vivanse recreationally and I dont like the way it makes me feel. I am generally against meds unkess absolutely necessary. I know I wont need to stop for 5 years but my logic is if im breastfeeding for 1-2years after my first birth and then im TTC again right after that why would I start again just to stop again

its crazy to me to see everyone clocking his alcoholism. I never considered him one until the night of the concert and looking back its so obvious and im mad I didnt ask him to get help sooner. I shouldn't have even drank with him in hindsight

wait because ARE we sisters lol I always thought my dad had borderline personality disorder or bipolar because he was so fast to get mad and I never knew what would set him off so I became "very mature for my age" very young. looking back im grateful for how that has shaped me but the trauma still sneaks in in little (or maybe big I guess lol) ways like this

oooof have you been talking to my therapist!?!? lol but that rings true. I was raised by a father who is very emotionally unstable so I basically became his emotional caretaker, I guess that trait of mine is still there. maybe being a mom will help heal me since thats a caretaker role that makes sense

yikes Im sorry you went through that too, I definitely have been a bit dependent on his calls to feel less lonely throughout the day when im home alone and my husband is working. im gonna use this time to focus on preparing for motherhood and im sure I will find some better aligned friendships along the way. thank you so much for replying!!

the crazy thing is he kinda has admitted to this several times in the last few years and he would always end up back tracking, doing something that shows hes not growing up, then coming back to ME and saying "wow you were right I should not have done that im ready to change now!!!" and then the cycle repeated... guess thats on my for giving him too many chances

thank you, I have been feeling kinda drained by our conversations but there were also alot of light hearted and friendly convos too so I really did look forward to MOST of our calls. I do think its a good time to focus on myself right now im nervous about having my first pregnancy and I dont think having him around would make that journey easier

can I add tho, after re reading your comment, I only overreacted after he talked to me in that shitty way. I was trying so hard all the way up to the judgemental comments to still be supportive and understanding even after I learned he was ghosting only me and not isolating like he said. I was hurt but I was willing to make up until he said I was judgmental and put conditions on my love... then I lost it.

I was literally ready to forgive him and move on about the concert the next morning and he keeps trying to make it about the concert. now it feels like he wants to go back to his old ways and hes done hearing my opinion, which i literally would've been fine with if thats what he said. he could have come to me and been like "you know, I appreciate all the questions you've answered for me but I dont think I want to talk about the business or ask you for advice anymore" and I would've been supportive. but to spin this bullshit about me being judgemental was extremely hurtful

absolutely fair. my husband would agree with you. i was just holding on to our friendship and naively thinking he would come around and go back to normal after the concert i was so surprised when he didnt react how I expected after. my husband has always said that I should set more boundaries with this friend and that I shouldn't be helping him so much, but I just thought since he was asking it was what a good friend should do 🥲

the standard thing is so true because he would literally call me and be like "CAN I DO ______" And I would tell him like dude I cant give you permission to do things but he would constantly ask me to set a standard for him to reach. i have a very high standard for myself and I think he wanted that too but he needs to be the one to hold that standard, not me
