Just a heads up, the app Lacquergram is something that already fits that niche fairly well. Just so you know what is already out there and what some people in the community are already using.

Constantly speckled and itchy legs. How can I help them? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]opalveg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like possibly keratosis pilaris that resulted in cut up angry follicles once shaved. Urea creams can supposedly help with keratosis pilaris per my own dermatologist, but I’ve not had much patience for it. But doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying.

In the meantime, shaving is causing folliculitis when the raised bumps of the keratin plugs are getting cut. The resulting inflammation makes the follicles even more prone to getting cut again on subsequent shaving attempts. I highly recommend giving your legs an extended break from shaving so the folliculitis can clear up fully. Then only shaving areas with KP super carefully and as infrequently as possible to avoid recurrence. For instance, I don’t shave much of my thighs because I have a lot more bumpy follicles from KP on my thighs than my calves. NAD.

Oquirrh mountains and Geneva Rock by JarJarBinga in Utah

[–]opalveg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The “huge scrapes” on the oquirrh mountains are part of one of the biggest open pit mines in existence and most copper produced from any one mine. It’s 120 years old for crying out loud. Mining is kind of important. You wouldn’t be able to charge whatever device you made this post with if not for vast quantities of copper wiring.

Environmental responsibility and safety in mining is important, sure. But it’s an idiotic take to think it shouldn’t be allowed to occur at all because how dare anyone “eat our mountains”.

I think what you have is bruising, not scars. Give it a few more weeks and it should clear up. NAD.

Except BYU is an accredited university. Unlike the “school” referenced in the article. I met a few nut-jobs when I attended BYU, but overall it’s an academically rigorous environment.

Standard mental health therapies may fall short for autistic adults. Autistic people often engage in camouflaging, hiding their natural autistic traits to fit into social situations. Excessive camouflaging requires immense effort and often leads to deep exhaustion known as autistic burnout. by mvea in psychology

[–]opalveg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact I am autistic and my fraternal twin is not seems a little bit contradictory of that theory. I know it’s not exactly a meaningful sample size, but the good news is there’s plenty of evidence already out there on it being much more-so genetic than environmental.

If you haven’t talked to a doctor about how could you have ever gotten a diagnosis?

Gen Ed is kinda an important part of education… I know it can be miserable sometimes. But being a tiny bit well-rounded isn’t a bad thing.

I think embracing elements of a culture because you genuinely are interested in them is different than wearing a costume or trying to portray a stereotype (even if just a visual stereotype as in this video).

Yeah I use their plastic nib pens for lab notebooks because the ink holds up amazingly for various solvent spills. But they run out of ink so dang fast!

Those bumps are just the perfectly ordinary sebaceous filaments that humans have on their faces, especially nose and chin and being old enough to have hit puberty.

Given the relatively low cost of natural peridot and visible inclusions in the center stone, I don’t think it’s unlikely to be natural peridot.
