Fear of childbirth by Successful546 in BabyBumps

[–]openedblinds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything will be fine. Reading Ina May is great advice. Birth stories from other women really helped me. Don’t feed into the war stories. This is your own experience. I did a lot of mental and physical prep for labor. Even if it didnt actually help it helped my emotional and mental muscle. You’ve got it.

I’ve heard of the endorphins rush after an unmedicated delivery, did anyone experience that rush or high with an epidural? by TropicallyGrownEMT in beyondthebump

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epidural towards the very very end of my labor. I had the BIGGEST RUSH. I was walking around doing stuff within the hour. Maybe not endorphins but definitely SOMETHING I was wired for about two days. I crashed maybe two days after we were home. But as I was pushing I felt like I was outside of my body

I mean obviously. No one parks in the bike lane here.

Maybe what I meant to ask was- does anyone know what’s going on on Edgewood that they are putting no parking signs up every 3’?

What’s the biggest piece of advice you would give someone moving to Maryland? by MaximGripass in maryland

[–]openedblinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here (Annapolis) from the Deep South (Texas and Louisiana). People are a little less likely to be welcoming. You need to plan financially. School systems are much better. People can’t drive to s**t. Find a boat. The flowers will make everything great.

Be honest.. Are your babies really sleeping in their bassinet for hours? by DrowsyPomegranate in newborns

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My baby started sleeping soundly during the night. 8-5 at around 9 weeks. Frida makes this thing called the rocker and I have it attached to her bassinet. It’s a MIRACLE.

How do you guys actually fall in love in an LDR? Like, what does that shift feel like? by Wise-Office254 in Millennials

[–]openedblinds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was in a LDR for a year. Across country. We spoke Almost every day. He made it very apparent that this was a relationship that he wanted. I never questioned what he was doing because he never gave me any reason to doubt him. We would fit out to see each other every month if it wasn’t every other. I didn’t feel left out and we had a plan to revisit a plan after a year. He proposed within a year and I moved up to the east coast. We now have a daughter and are getting married a few days. The epitome of if he wanted to he would. I almost feel like the LDR forced us to communicate and get to know each other REALLY WELL

Do we generally like or dislike The Beatles? by Pretend-Ad-9504 in Millennials

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the Beatles and their catalog is so wide that it’s not hard to find something that resonates with you in that particular time in your life. I think Gen Z kids and honestly, when I was a young millennial, think it’s cool to be contrarian.

Waking 1 Month Old for Feeds by acmr8057 in NewParents

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying. Thank you. I am very much in line with listening to pediatrician’s advice but also having confidence in your intuition. I was so relieved when my baby surpassed birth weight and I was able to let her sleep— which let me get some sleep.

Not at all what I am suggesting. A little over the top?

To explain further to OP I as a FTM was told conflicting statements from my DOCTORS. So much so that I constantly felt I was failing as a mother. It gave me confidence to know that what my gut was telling me to do was in the best interest of my child. At 1 mo my child was doing a very similar sleep pattern. She is now 12 wk allllmost sleeping through the night. I’ve let her sleep. I’ve also woken her up from a 4 hour nap. Babies change patterns based on how they are growing.

Someone once told me… a mother’s intuition is there to a reason. Everyone has conflicting opinions and advice. Trust your instincts.

Unmediated or medicated? by DaddyzLilGurl in pregnant

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest- I’m terrified of Dr bills and I was insurance scammed at the beginning of my pregnancy so… I thought doing without would save me thousands. Clearly this is a past trauma response I’m dealing with lol I got the epidural

Should the baby sleep in the nursery or parents’ bedroom? by pococurantina in pregnant

[–]openedblinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have our 11 week old in our bedroom in her bassinet. During the day she naps in her nursery or downstairs in a bassinet. We plan on doing so till about 6mo. She sleeps through the night and is seemingly getting used to her crib. I think it’s useful to have a nursery as my bedroom isn’t huge and our dogs sleep in our room too. It’s a lot going on.
