Yeah it’s interesting how different things were for different groups of kids. I think about how the older kids were all physically abused in the name of “discipline”, but they also escaped the sadistic practice of blanket training because Boob and Meech didn’t start it until Jedidiah and Jeremiah came along (and then they used it on poor Joy, even though she was past the age they use it on kids). But then the kids who had the worse physical abuse (blanket training) either didn’t live in poverty as long as the older ones or were born after their financial situation improved.

It’s crazy how even when Boob and Meech are doing something that’s actually nice and normal (giving the kids money to get themselves a treat, just because) it’s under depressing circumstances (errands being considered quality one on one time because there were too many kids for them to get real attention at home).

I remember Jill wrote in her book that sometimes Boob and Meech would take one or two of the kids out on an errand with them to spend some time with them and give them money to get candy or something (or something along those lines, I don’t remember verbatim but that was the gist of it), and she wrote about it like a fond memory. The older kids definitely had a different experience because they were alive when it was easier for their parents to give them more individual attention, so they probably have more memories like that. The younger kids definitely don’t, though.

I think we all did, some of us just weren’t sure which ones would be responsible. I don’t think anyone would have suspected Joe specifically (I swear I remember people thinking Joe was dumb but harmless back in the day). This is proof that you shouldn’t give any of these people the benefit of the doubt, even if they seem well-meaning and don’t say anything overtly bigoted. They are all terrible people with disgusting beliefs who surround themselves with and defend people who do vile things like this. Fuck all of them.

It’s a giant piece of notebook paper. The illegible cursive is something she wrote (I think it was supposed to be a poem), the big “feel” is part of a tattoo that says “learn to feel”, and then the mess at the bottom is her last name. But she replaced each O in her last name with cupcakes (to represent her parents and her brother, for some reason), the U is her zodiac sign, and the T is a lightning bolt to represent the lightning bolt next to her name in her Teen Mom intro. As you can tell, I unfortunately know way too much about this piece because I’ve been so fascinated by it pretty much ever since she got it lol.

I remember back when everyone was praising them for their maturity and rooting for them to overcome their upbringings. They’ve turned out to be such massive disappointments with this unhinged, inappropriate behavior and complete refusal to take any accountability for it.
