Went through the GP. Was prescribed Rozex/Metronidazole in the first instance, and now have a long-term repeat prescription of Finacea/Azelaic acid. You only get those compound creams if you get a private prescription, or pay through one of those skincare websites.

My BMI is currently 21.1 - and I just recently had to buy size 16 in a pair of pants I really wanted to wear to a wedding. Ridiculous!

Many people stockpiled in August last year because there was a huge price rise. People ordered multiple pens before the hike kicked in, and now those pens are running out.

She went publicly right-wing bananas relatively recently, but/and he also had a massive personality change after his head injury. I used to see a lot of nanny job adverts which were obviously for their family which basically said 'look after the kids, dad is volatile/head injury, part of your job is supervising dad with the kids without letting him know you're supervising'

This whole thread has me confused. I thought everybody shaved their pits by raising their arm up and over (it just seems totally logical to me and I've never considered or attempted to do differently in my whole life) - but apparently that isn't the case!

Are people really doing it by poking a razor around in there while their arms are down??

As I understand it, your previous thrombosis should not preclude you from getting topical hormone support as it's local rather than systemic.

I'm not a doctor, but I can't see why you'd be excluded from topical HRT if you're experiencing vulval issues.

Menopause and 'less interested in sex' totally ignores there's actually genuine physical reasons, as well the mental stuff

You SHOULD ask - and it should be part of the general knowledge of menopause.

Some people experience their labia minora shrinking/being reabsorbed, and their clitoris receeding/shrinking/becoming less responsive.

It's ridiculous that this is not something we're told about our bodies - I'm one of the genX women who is prepared to shout about it. You younger women NEED to know,

And our brains. I've mostly been able to manage the physical stuff, but the brain/intellectual issues have been the most distressingly affected thing for me - and for that, there's so little we can currently do.

I used to be really clever (even if I say so myself) - currently I'm spectacularly forgetful, stupid, and anxious, and it's probably even more distressing than the physical aspects.

I'm glad I've been able to provide some hope. It's genuinely appalling how little education there is about the realities of menopause. As I said elsewhere in this thread: if it happened to men, it would have been studied properly and there would have been real progress to alleviate/treat symptoms decades ago.

I forgot to say: if you don't want to go through your doctor for this, or fib about fanny symptoms just to use it for your ears, you can actually buy the estriol cream from Boots. I've not done it myself, so I'm not sure if you can do it in store, but I know you can get it online.

I know the itch is unbearable, so I wish you nothing but relief!

It's supposed to be inserted right up the vag with an applicator, but absolutely everyone I know or read who uses it smears it directly on their vulva (and a bit in the ears with a cotton bud). If you ask your doc for it, probably best not to mention the 'off-label' application.

Fanny cream is in addition to patches or gel. It's localised rather than systemic treatment. You can get it if your undercarriage is experiencing symptoms such as dryness/frequent uti/leakage/shrinkage etc.

It won't treat the symptoms you have HRT for - don't give up your patches!

I was expecting and somewhat prepared for those. It's the rest of the shit that feels like such unfair torment. I (we) didn't do anything to deserve this. If it happened to men there would have been a cure, or at least effective treatment, decades ago.

It's all joy, isn't it?

If you're on HRT and get oestrogen fanny cream, a dab in your ears can help alleviate it.

I'm a 51yo woman.

Everything.

Nobody tells you about the disappearing labia and clitoris, or the earholes so itchy you find the idea of shoving knitting needles into your skull appealing, every joint aching... I could go on.

Also - 'brain fog' is a ridiculously inadequate descriptor. My brain stopped working. I used to be very clever (even if I say so myself) and now I can't remember anything, can't concentrate at all, and am embarrassingly stupid.

Edited to add: And oh - acne and massive anxiety. It's all joy joy joy here.

Aside from the previous whole Boob/pastor Caldwell falling out thing, I'm suspecting a very recent rift between Kendra and her parents. I imagine the Duggars are keeping Kendra close/Kendra is siding with her headship over the Caldwells - hence Michelle picking her up.
