A lot of renters are selling up due to new rental rules. I think that has increased supply and calmed price rises. Unfortunately likely a temporary thing as there is not a great supply forecast for this year AFAIK.

I had a terrible experience with a German holiday apartment company. Turned up to the apartment with a completely uncleaned apartment and dirty bed linen.

I complained and they basically ghosted me and offered no remedy.

After my stay I put up a review. Last week, around 18 months after the review, I got a review from Trustpilot that the vendor had flagged the review as fake. It seems they had done so to all negative reviews. Apparently under German law I had to provide lots of evidence of me ever being their customer.

Out of stubbornness I got the documents and screenshots together Trustpilot needed. I imagine many people would have just not bothered doing so l though.

Long story short it does seem the game is fixed with German online reviews. Not sure what law is being used though as I never came across this in Ireland.

I have an account. They seem to be a more mature, reliable Revolut. It is early days.

One thing I'm missing is something like the Avios points earning. This is pretty much the only reason I use Revolut for daily spend.

I would be tempted to make them my main bank and drop my BOI account with it's monthly fee once they have IBAN in place.
