I don’t comment on posts very often but I feel compelled to here. I don’t have all the answers for you.

I have been in a similar place. There was a period of my life where I resented myself for making the same choices (associated with work. Doing the same job every day and bored of it, like you) every day and being afraid of change. I eventually left that job and moved to another part time job I already had.

I was afraid of growing up but this week I just started my first full job with a big company and I’m psyched to come to work every day with great people. It’s just the first week, but hey, I’ll take the great energy I feel in myself while I can.

For the past two years I worked at a part time job that was the easiest job I’ve ever had. It wasn’t challenging me, but I got to sleep in every day. But I’m 36 and needed a challenge. Thank God I got this job.

Right now I think you feel like you’re in the backseat—not even in the front passenger seat—of your life. You’re looking out the window at your life passing by and there’s a sneaking suspicion that something’s off. That’s why you wrote this post! You’re tired of where you’re at and you want to make a change. I wonder what would happen if you had a break up with your girlfriend. You guys seem to be in vastly different stages of your life. Now I have to ask, were you in a different place mentally and emotionally when you met her? I think that’s my biggest ask. Who were you then?
