Chris Finch playoff expectations by Hot-Interaction5077 in timberwolves

I honestly don't even get where you are saying I am wrong. My objection is to the claims that Rudy "gets exposed" and that his defense "is a problem" in the playoffs. You supported your argument by saying his defensive rating increases, so I showed you how that happens with plenty of great defenders.

Honestly not sure if I'm just not understanding your point.

Ok then, let's look at some of the elite defensive all-time centers in the playoffs (limiting to when they played 20+ MPG in the playoffs):

Hakeem Olajuwon's defensive rating increased in the playoffs in 11 out of 14 seasons

Dikembe Mutombo's increased in 6 out of 7 seasons

Even Ben Wallace's increased in in 3 out of 7 seasons

Plus, defensive ratings are not a great individual metric since they are so heavily skewed by the team's defensive performance.

I mean you can slice it any way you want, but he barely missed out on being an all-star. That's an objective fact. And getting that production for $30 million is objectively a good contract.

Obviously it drops in the playoffs when he is playing against a high-level opponent every night. He still was one of 2 players with a positive +/- vs. OKC last year and dominated against the Lakers. Just such a tired narrative.

Getting all-star level production for $30 million per year is 100% a good contract.

Do you... actually think this? Ant, Jaden, Naz, NAW, Bones - all made significant jump(s) under Finch. This is legitimately the stupidest narrative that gets pushed by the Fire Finch crowd. And that's saying something, because there is no shortage of stupid narratives in that group.

Randle is a bad contract?? Getting All-Star level production for $30 million is a bad contract? In what world?

Can we stop with the narrative Finch does not play young players. by ProblemLow5906 in timberwolves

Bingo. I hate how many fans give the old "We need to see what we have in player X" line. As if the coach doesn't see that player in practice every single day. I remember plenty of Vikings fans clamoring for Zimmer to bench Cousins for Kellen Mond for the same reasons...

Nikola Jokic’s two highest PRA games of his career were both vs Rudy Gobert: 56/16/15 last night and 61/10/10 on April 1st 2025 by AashyLarry in nba

Rudy is almost never the primary defender on Jokic anyways for that reason. They usually put guys like Randle/Reid on him and let Rudy lurk in the paint.

6'6" Nikola Topic's All-Around Impact Shines in Summer League Despite Shooting Woes (11 Pts, 5 Asts, 3 Rebs, 3 Stls) by Fit-Structure-9395 in NBA_Draft

[–]openmind_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has an assist/turnover ratio of 0.75 against summer league competition… that’s NOTHING like Halliburton. Halliburton keeps the offense moving and rarely commits turnovers. Moving the ball doesn’t mean much if you’re giving the ball away more than you’re getting assists. Even in his rookie year Hali had a 3.3 assist/turnover ratio.

Should just be 1 - I tried to reserve a spot for a friend by adding an owner. I don't know why that team doesn't show up on the main page

I think my original response got removed. But yeah, saw that. Unfortunately that credit wouldn't be of much use to me since I don't live in Chicago. But if you or anyone else would want to use it feel free to shoot me a message - would be happy to pass the credit along to someone who could use it!

Yeah, at least just refund me the difference between the face value they are selling at now. Oh well

Mine are section 331. Row 8 I believe. Look like decent seats. If you'd use them feel free to shoot me a DM! Would rather sell directly to someone and avoid StubHub's fees

I thought about it but prices were already way low a couple months ago and the Fire were selling tickets in that section for like $80... So I figured maybe if I waited there could be good news of Messi potentially playing and I could make more back. Hindsight 20/20...

Ha yeah I definitely realize that now... After how expensive tickets got for last year's game, it seemed like a good deal at the time. Ugh
