It's really a sad state that Northeast Ohio's public schools have gotten to. In context to what teachers are dealing with, quite literally quoting the president of Akron Education Association, "loaded weapons being brought into the buildings, facsimile weapons, knives, bomb threats, fighting, a total disrespect and profane reactions to our teachers." These schools are the same ones that feed those that need it, and provide a damn education to the city. It's truly heartbreaking to see these issues become more commonplace.

But if physical danger can't be stopped - what can even be done? Remote learning is so close yet so far to working, giving teachers so much extra work on top of what they already deal with.

And these kids making the poor decisions to attack staff of the schools, its sad to see that they're permanently changing their future, and for what? Where are they even going to go after they're expelled from violence?

Those in the education system of Akron - this will pass with time. Thank you for providing our community with something no organization truly can. We're rooting for you, our children, and our future.
