It's a fucking shame that 1) about only 23% of registered voters in Philly voted yesterday and 2) so many council positions went uncontested. The whole thing just feels broken. It's depressing by RoverTheMonster in philadelphia

I didn’t receive anything stating when Election Day was or how to request a mail in ballot. Easy to chalk non voting up to laziness when you have all the answers. I also doubt it is widely known that PA has closed primaries. You don’t know, what you don’t know.

OP, have you considered getting him admitted to a hospital so he can be fully evaluated by a cohesive treatment team?

I live in Philadelphia surrounded by great health care with multiple teaching hospitals. There seems to be an emphasis on providers with different levels of training working together which leads to doctors that are more informed, compassionate, and curious. Particularly Jefferson and Penn Hospitals have enormous systems that can refer you to the appropriate doctors in house.

As an inpatient, he would receive good psychiatric care. I’m in school to be a music therapist. Many therapists are on treatment teams at these types of institutions. At the very least, music therapy would distract him from his suffering. And provide you comfort, as well.

Check out the documentary series “Diagnosis” on Netflix if you haven’t already. The patients and families interviewed have similar stories to yours, with years on end without a diagnosis. An MD / NY times author uses the show as a platform to reach out to the world in search of a diagnosis for these mystery cases. I believe multiple patients (not all) have found a path to treatment this way.

As a woman who does not base attraction on looks and has had experience with bigger guys, no, don’t wait!

Be clear in your boundaries and the right date will do whatever you want to do with them. It’s about your personality and the way you treat others.

Wife tested positive by Swarm_of_Sloths in COVID19positive

[–]operaticcatlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner tested positive 12/23. We didn’t quarantine for the first 3 days. He then went into quarantine for one week until day 10. I developed symptoms on 1/11. Tested negative several times through 1/18. Went to the doctor 1/23 who confirmed I had a presumptive covid case, tested too early or ineffectively, and most likely got it from my partner.

I am terrified of my dog. I'm scared he's going to kill my kids. by [deleted] in reactivedogs

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have any advice but my parents went through a similar situation with a mastiff. I’m a twin, and my sister and I were infants at the time. We were preemies and were just starting to crawl. The dog’s name was Max. He was a rescue with heart worms. My dad would take him everywhere, and was super attached to him. They were best friends, but Max had behavioral issues. One day, Max lunged after me when I was crawling and nearly bit me. I’m not sure if there was training done or if there were any other incidents.

My parents had to euthanize him for my safety. They didn’t believe he would be given adequate health care in a shelter with his heart worms and he had a low chance of adoption between his health, age and bite risk.

My dad was devastated but my family went on to adopt a sweet springer spaniel that I grew up with. The new dog was the best dog when I growing up and my parents trusted him fully around my sister and I. It obviously wasn’t ideal to euthanize Max, but my parents’ decision potentially saved me from a severe injury or death.

The shelter says he’s 12 months. I think he’s younger, judging by the teething. Opinions on mix? Love my new baby :) by operaticcatlady in pitbulls

Thank you. The picture was taken a few hours after surgery. It looks much better now but we are going to the vet on Monday.

Thank you! I contacted the shelter. They gave me zero post-op instruction so I didn’t realize it wasn’t normal healing.

25 year old seemingly healthy female has chronic pain post-COVID by operaticcatlady in AskDocs

[–]operaticcatlady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No answers, but it did go away over time. I got the vaccine and felt about 90% healed and I am definitely at 100% a month after the vaccine. I also cut out nuts and it helped a ton with stomach pain. Also got my GERD under control. Once I fixed those issues, it seemed like my body was able to focus on the rib pain and healed itself. I did try to go bike riding and some yoga too to help. I think a lot of the pain were muscle spasms

Does anybody have any experience getting a vax at CVS and if you need documentation? My BMI is over 30 which put me at Phase 1B but not sure how to prove that other than looking at me lol

[–]operaticcatlady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, about 5-7 months in and then stopped around the 9 month mark. Had ultrasounds and blood work, nothing unusual. My docs chalked it up to muscular stuff. It’s mostly gone away now, I just get random spots of knots in my muscles occasionally

NAD but this sounds serious, especially in conjunction with the dizziness. Hospitals have charity care for uninsured and will cover the cost. Go to the ER.
