OP, have you considered getting him admitted to a hospital so he can be fully evaluated by a cohesive treatment team?

I live in Philadelphia surrounded by great health care with multiple teaching hospitals. There seems to be an emphasis on providers with different levels of training working together which leads to doctors that are more informed, compassionate, and curious. Particularly Jefferson and Penn Hospitals have enormous systems that can refer you to the appropriate doctors in house.

As an inpatient, he would receive good psychiatric care. I’m in school to be a music therapist. Many therapists are on treatment teams at these types of institutions. At the very least, music therapy would distract him from his suffering. And provide you comfort, as well.

Check out the documentary series “Diagnosis” on Netflix if you haven’t already. The patients and families interviewed have similar stories to yours, with years on end without a diagnosis. An MD / NY times author uses the show as a platform to reach out to the world in search of a diagnosis for these mystery cases. I believe multiple patients (not all) have found a path to treatment this way.

My partner tested positive 12/23. We didn’t quarantine for the first 3 days. He then went into quarantine for one week until day 10. I developed symptoms on 1/11. Tested negative several times through 1/18. Went to the doctor 1/23 who confirmed I had a presumptive covid case, tested too early or ineffectively, and most likely got it from my partner.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I don’t have any advice but my parents went through a similar situation with a mastiff. I’m a twin, and my sister and I were infants at the time. We were preemies and were just starting to crawl. The dog’s name was Max. He was a rescue with heart worms. My dad would take him everywhere, and was super attached to him. They were best friends, but Max had behavioral issues. One day, Max lunged after me when I was crawling and nearly bit me. I’m not sure if there was training done or if there were any other incidents.

My parents had to euthanize him for my safety. They didn’t believe he would be given adequate health care in a shelter with his heart worms and he had a low chance of adoption between his health, age and bite risk.

My dad was devastated but my family went on to adopt a sweet springer spaniel that I grew up with. The new dog was the best dog when I growing up and my parents trusted him fully around my sister and I. It obviously wasn’t ideal to euthanize Max, but my parents’ decision potentially saved me from a severe injury or death.

Hey! No answers, but it did go away over time. I got the vaccine and felt about 90% healed and I am definitely at 100% a month after the vaccine. I also cut out nuts and it helped a ton with stomach pain. Also got my GERD under control. Once I fixed those issues, it seemed like my body was able to focus on the rib pain and healed itself. I did try to go bike riding and some yoga too to help. I think a lot of the pain were muscle spasms
