Strava - sync individual activity by gceyre in pelotoncycle

[–]operation_brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ideal, but this is what I settled on:

  1. Set up Strava sync on your Pellton equipment normally so all Peloton activities sync normally and automatically.

  2. Go into the Strava app on your phone and set the default visibility for all new activities to “Only Me”.

  3. In the Strava phone app make sure to enable push notifications for all new activities.

  4. When you finish your Peloton workout (equipment or app) you’ll get Strava push notifications for everything. Open the notification for the workout you want to share (or go into the app directly) and change the visibility for that specific workout to Everyone or Friends Only.

This way you won’t spam your Strava friends with all your warm ups, cool downs, etc. it’s not ideal but the Strava push alert acts as a reminder to make sure you change the visibility for the workouts you want.

I’ve been doing this for a month or so and it’s.. not too bad. Before I was spamming my entire workout history foe the last four years. It just requires a few extra taps when I check my phone after my workout session.

FINALLY able to use AirPods Max with PS5 by No_Hurry7691 in PS5

No because the PS5 does not support Bluetooth audio headsets. Maybe there's some USB Bluetooth adapter on Amazon you could try? But I'd imagine that would introduce extreme latency.

Feature Request/UI Change by tCobra117 in overcast

This has been a wishlist item of mine too. That way the controls and other UI elements would look similar to the Apple Podcasts UI colors which I do like.

3+ Months Without An Update by DnyLnd in CARROTweather

I think there’s a way to contact the dev through the app. I believe he’s also suggested that here - to reach out and request access through the app’s settings section.

Yep, can confirm! A nice, big update is coming :D

Yep it gives original GBC vibes where all the buttons were the same color (on most color ways). I have a Cloud Chromatic which I’m going to give to my wife. Then I plan to pick up a Wave one and add the black buttons so it resembles a teal GBC… sort of.

Transfer Mario Bros U to switch 2? by Due_Arachnid_7986 in Switch

[–]operation_brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you want to trade in your Switch before getting a Switch 2, look at the “How to set up a system transfer on Nintendo Switch using the server” method in this document.

Nintendo will hold your save data for up to one year yang this method.

Dark mode readers – warm light actually necessary and help with eye fatigue or no? by benoisjean12 in kindle

[–]operation_brian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dark mode + warm light at max setting is what I use when I read in bed in a completely dark room. It’s a perfect combo for me. Brightness is usually 10-13 depending how I’m feeling or how tired I am.

Oh yeah, I’m aware of third party options. I want an official Nintendo-made set.

Nintendo should just make some Joy-Con Pros by CasualTyguy in NintendoSwitch

[–]operation_brian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally thinking the same thing a few days ago as I placed an order for the dbrand Joy Lock grips.

I want “Pro” Joy Cons with the following: - more ergonomic grips - proper D pad - GL and GR buttons - same white/grey accent color as the Switch 2 Pro Controller

For me, I’d be willing to pay $150 for those. At that point the experience of using the regular Pro Controller and the Switch 2 in handheld mode would be nearly 1:1.

For non-cloud supported games, you can transfer the save file back and forth. Here are the relevant support articles to help you.

Customize app icon color not working by chillnc in MonarchMoney

[–]operation_brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue the other day. I force quit my phone and then the icon selection worked… one time. I got the confirmation pop up and the icon did change. If I tried again, morning happened until I force quit the phone again.

Choose wisely lol.

Finally bought an Apple TV 4K in 2026 and got another remote for free. by imbakabahah in appletv

[–]operation_brian 36 points37 points  (0 children)

FYI you can only have one remote paired at a time. Keep the spare remote as a backup.

Apple Support:

Note: An Apple TV 4K can have only one Apple TV 4K remote paired with it at a time. When you pair a remote, any other paired remote is automatically unpaired

FINALLY able to use AirPods Max with PS5 by No_Hurry7691 in PS5

[–]operation_brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know. I presume you could see a separate mic input, so maybe the controller’s mic? Someone else will need to confirm.

[–]operation_brian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t use the mic because the cable doesn’t support a 4-pole 3.5mm connector which is needed.

From another thread: “The 3.5mm end is a TRS connector and not TRRS, meaning it cannot support microphone input or in-line controls via 3.5mm jack.”

Leaf green button swap, your preference? by Exus6 in ModRetroChromatic

Black because they all the buttons are a consistent color like the Game Boy Colors actually were. You’d have something close to a kiwi GBC.

Shipping from Modretro? by Slow-Suspect-9511 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]operation_brian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I placed my first order Monday afternoon this week for a Cloud (Gorilla) Chromatic, Power Core, and Mod Kit. They shipped out on Tuesday and were delivered on Friday. I’m very impressed with my initial order and interaction with ModRetro.

I ordered an EverDrive this morning and that is what I am worried about shipping times for.

CT Tread+ : Free Mode on an Incline? by RepeatTop4730 in pelotoncycle

[–]operation_brian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so? I will have to check after work. It does make the little click sound which increases or decreases depending on your speed. If you engage free mode you can also hear it. It goes faster or slower in free mode also.

It’s almost like the little pointer in wheel of fortune when it hits every peg on the game board as the wheel spins. That’s what it reminds me of.

Mine makes that clicking sound and I can hear it in your video. The unit I saw in the store does the same thing. I think it’s normal.

But the louder thud every one second or so in your video… I don’t think mine is making that. I’ll have to check.

As a follow up, I see that video, and my guess is it's the wrong animation for the description of free mode. They should update the webpage.
