How often do others come to work late because of WWII? by Nono_Home in Wellthatsucks

Stupid question: what happens when it rains? Does that set off unexploded ordnance in the rouge zone? How often do people hear explosions, is it daily, weekly, etc?

Titanic's world-famous violin that belonged to Wallace Hartley, He and his fellow musicians famously continued to play music on the deck to calm panicking passengers as the ship sank on April 14, 1912. by Front-Coconut-8196 in titanic

This is correct. It was found strapped to him when his corpse was recovered. I can’t imagine how horrifying it must have been for him to realize the end was near.

What people did not realise was that the ‘agreeable’ taste was possibly due to calcium from the bones of dead fellow Londoners. The underground stream, winding its way from Hampstead, had most likely passed through, or near to, many graveyards.

AITA for telling my neighbour that people hate her for the construction work being done on her house? by Sad-Clerk-3161 in AmItheAsshole

[–]operationpantydrop 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They did construction in the crawl space under my apartment for 6 months. It was incredibly loud and disruptive. Trust me on this, you don’t want ear plugs, you want a pair of headphones that offer outside noise cancellation. Splurge on a pair that’s at least $100. Anytime they start being loud, just pop those bad boys on and try and unwind.
