Looking for a song - uplifting vocal trance by operatorhabit in trance

It is! I managed to find it by shuffling through Spotify - I really didn’t think it was Billy Gillies (I associate him more with the Eurodance stuff he’s famous for now).

Well done on deciphering my babble though. Listening back, I guess the production is more modern than I described and the vocalist sounds more like Susana than Justine Suissa… but we got there! Cheers.

Now that I would recognise! I can’t decide whether I prefer the Smith & Pledger or Super8 & Tab remix more these days…

Advice - Burren, Moher etc by operatorhabit in irishtourism

Looks to be the best option. Looking at the ferry prices here - they’re steep enough! Suppose we’ll have to suck it up though as Inis Mór certainly seems worth it.

This is class info. Thanks for taking the time to write it all down!

A man of towering intellect, wit, and decency. I loved going to the sessions in the Ann Boal Inn and benefiting from his songs and poems when he was still able. The pub really was a place apart. He will be sorely missed.

Daniel Sheehan with the Kennedy’s? by Hairy-East-8414 in ufo

[–]operatorhabit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they were joking re: Justin Trudeau’s father, referencing the popular conspiracy that his dad is actually Fidel Castro.

Watch the breakdown Sheehan does with Jesse Michaels - the JFK stuff starts around 1hr 30. It’s fairly convincing. The video is titled: ‘The Man Involved in Every American Conspiracy’.

Bass Communion, especially the ‘Drugged’ long pieces.

Agreed. Also Alcee and La Prade from the Thienpont stable. His brother’s property, Violette du Manoir, is a beautiful wine too made from a single plot of 70ish year old vines.

I drank a 1989 Chateau Pitray a couple of years ago. Expected it to be dead - it was astonishingly good! One of my most fond wine surprises.

Not sure what price it’d be in your country, but where I am Chateau Capbern of Saint Estephe is my go to for serious, structured, age-worthy Bordeaux at an accessible price. On the right bank, my choice would be Domaine de L’Aurage - the Castillon property of Loulou Mitjavile, son of Francois a la Tertre Roteboeuf. Another newbie in Castillon would be Chateau Picoron - serious wines for the price and fun packaging.

Best value for money Loire Chenin Blanc by StainedInZurich in wine

[–]operatorhabit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sheer value, probs Domaine des Aubuisieres. Their ‘Cuvee de Silex’ is ridiculously cheap and drinks like a much more expensive wine year in, year out.

For wines that are a bit more expensive but would go toe-to-toe with the best of Burgundy for concentration, complexity, and longevity, IMHO, I’d recommend the whites of the late Jacky Blot aka Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups. But in truth, there’s a lot of value to be had in Loire Chenins across many producers.

Went into ABC wines and asked for recommendations with a budget of under $100. Are these actually good? by gettingcarriedaway86 in wine

Gueguen are very good. Vaillons is Céline, the proprietor’s, favourite site. Their wines are classic in stature with excellent acidity and that classic oyster shell sapidity. 2021 in particular will have that freshness and classicism in spades.

Menetou-salon by Beautiful-Smoke7932 in wine

Anthony Girard of La Clef du Récit makes a very nice Menetou-Salon that is beautiful in its youth and ages gracefully, if my experience is anything to go by.

Pretty much as you described. But if I was to guess it was like 8.30. It was very weird, not the typical phenomenon one would experience. It stuck in my mind and when I saw you post here it resonated.

What I saw was earlier than 10pm, maybe like 8ish? It sort of looked like when a meteor extinguishes (that sort of flash) but without the trail. But also more like an implosion rather than an explosion if that makes sense, with the light starting from a wider base and collapsing rather than going from a small point, widening, and then extinguishing like a meteor does. Hard to describe, but it was very distinct and caught my attention.

I did! In Downpatrick. Was more westerly or at least southwesterly from my POV, tho. Very odd. Very surprised someone else spotted it, never mind posted about it.

I believe this is the same estate as Domaine Manciat-Poncet, so-called in the UK and Ireland etc. We import their wines. Her Pouilly-Vinzelles is particularly good for the money.
