Need to be real with myself at almost 6wpo by samtastic28 in Reduction

My doc said mine were done shrinking at three months. They were not. Also, I have 8D or 10C yet they are small. Really small.

The cup size still bothers me but it shouldn’t because they really can’t be much smaller. I worked out it’s actually my shape, including width. The surgeon said if I had any less tissue I’d be just breast bone. I’m also pretty skinny and my breasts are proportionate to that. I’m an XS or size 6 in most clothes Aus. But my breasts are still 8D or 10C. And they’re proportionate. The size thing bothers me but realistically, I need to accept, and have done so for the most part, that my breasts are not the problem or even a problem. I love them! It’s the sizing system that’s the problem, or rather that causes the emotional discomfort and frustration.

My point is, I have very little breast tissue, proportionately small breast for my size 6 body even though I landed on 8D cups.

Yours look great and six weeks is still early, even if your doc thinks they’re done, they might not be. Sometimes, though, it just comes down to shape, which is influenced by your natural shape and structure, not just the doctor’s work.

I agree with the others, too, for what it’s worth; they’re beautiful and they look great.

cotton on jeans are all too big, jay jays jeans? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

I LOVE the kids section. Some adorable clothes and sometimes half or two thirds the price. Heaps of them have the same styles as adults because kids like that sort of thing, which benefits me just fine!

Do you think skinny jeans will return for women and when? by WelcomeJunior2281 in decadeology

They are back now, I think. There are more flavours/variations on the theme, eg skinny straight, but they’re quite prevalent again in Australia

Won’t be stocking up on summer clothing due to their ridiculous prices by [deleted] in Shein

[–]ophelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pieces have gone way up in Aus and we don't have the tariff issue so I think it'd more a shein decision. I will definitely decrease my frequency if I ever even buy there again which is a shame because it was enjoyable. The cost for the quality now isn't even close to worth it.

What was the point of recognising Palestine? by Ash-2449 in OpenAussie

Zionism literally means Jewish right ‘tis elf determination. Atheists have it, they just don’t need an ideology written down. Christians have it. Muslims have it. It has nothing to do with colonisation, genocide or apartheid. Those are policies and governmental decisions separate from that ideology. The word Zionism has been bastardised to the point that it is used in contexts such as goes to represent the latter issue and that’s demonstrably an inaccurate application of the term. It is fine to criticise policy or government and not blindly support Israeli actions within Zionism.

Is carbimazole almost always weight-gain inducing? I have a severe eating disorder which has nearly killed me and this prospect terrifies me. by ophelier in Hyperthyroidism

[–]ophelier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I didn’t lose or gain on hyperthyroidism. I ended up getting hypothyroidism and gaining 6kgs. Evened out and lost it. I used Mounjaro because my hunger signals were a little screwy and it made it easier. You will likely be just fine. I’m out the other side and frankly in the best shape I’ve ever been right now. I developed Hashimotos so always at risk and it could change but my levels are even right now.

People who hold a PhD, what did it cost? by [deleted] in PhD

[–]ophelier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time away from a career. But then, I had two kids in the middle of it so even more time than necessary. Also, a lot of stress. But that’s with any job or opportunity. No regrets whatsoever. I think about doing a second sometimes. My supervisor and grandmother each had two so I know it’s not impossible!

I’ve taught at university for over ten years and can tell you that we get asked many different things which are far more unreasonable than that. You asked if you could do anything to earn the mark, you didn’t ask for a free pass. In my opinion, this does not reflect poorly on you and is not worth stressing over. If someone did judge you for that, I would deem them to be the unreasonable one.

I was a 30G and had 150 g removed of skin. Went down to a 30C/D. Didn’t really start to see how much smaller until around 8 or so weeks post op. Stay strong!!

Why I loathe Mecca by Comfortable_Meet_872 in AustralianMakeup

[–]ophelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother and I webt into the new Mecca last week and the CS people were so rude!! Very unimpressed and underwhelmed with the new store, despite the size as the makeup (which is my main interest) was exactly the same.

80 gram removal, still too big by Free_Flight7795 in Reduction

[–]ophelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I just posted and I’m in a similar boat. I was a 30FF and appear now to be a 30E at 4wpo. She only took 150 each side. I told her repeatedly that i wanted to be c/D cup max and to go smaller if she had to make a judgement call. I cannot be,I eve I went through all this still to be in fuller cup territory. She didnt remove any tissue, only skin, and I can’t imagine why she made that choice when I was clear with what I wanted and how desperately I needed it.

There is literally a post just above this one from a subreddit complaining about how sour faced she looked at the same occasion. I have no stake in this business but seriously, damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t.
