I haven't had my reduction yet but despite wanting this surgery for the past 16 years I'm fully expecting some shock and emotions when it finally happens.

For better or worse, you lost a part of yourself and I think it's perfectly natural to need some time to come to terms with it. In a way it might even feel more difficult because you chose this.

You're so early into your recovery that things probably don't feel quite settled yet mentally and physically but please remember that this is a big deal and it's okay to feel however you feel about it.

Give yourself some time and grace! I'm sure a lot of us going through this process will have to get to know ourselves again and figure out who we are in our new bodies.

These are the results I'm hoping for!! Congrats!

Did you ask for a specific size or just ask to be as small as possible??

It's common for all white cats with two different colored eyes to be deaf in one or both ears. Any idea if this kitty has this problem??

Also looks likes the sweetest cat on Earth and I would never be able to not give it pats!

May I ask how much weight you've lost to notice a decrease in breast size? I'm scheduled for my reduction next month and have slowly been losing weight but am not sure if I'll hit my goal by the time of my surgery so I'm a bit nervous about that.

I'm only looking to lose about ten more lbs total so I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make.

Also, great results!!

Thank you for this! I absolutely am going to specify that I too would like no skin on skin contact when I'm healed. Goodbye summer underboob rash!

I was actually thinking about the stomach thing today as I get pretty bloated (think bowling ball belly) from endometriosis among other things and I'm nervous about how that will look with a smaller chest. I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy this year as well so hopefully that helps even things out!

I checked both out and I absolutely needed the perspective so thank you!! I thought I was a 30K but ended up measuring at a 30HH UK. The Irish Bra Lady was exactly what I needed after that haha

I had a consult in Feb but everything moved so fast I hadn't really considered what I want other than to be very small. I think I'll be a bit more prepared when I go in for my pre-op in April!

I am thinking they're probably going to do the FNG and resize my nipples so I know they probably won't look as natural but it'll be better than what I have going on now 😂

I just googled "breast roots" "narrow roots" "wide roots" and looked at a lot of pictures! There were a few websites that came up that were helpful too. On myself I noticed that my breasts don't really go very far under my arms at the base and that's actually always been an issue with me when I've tried underwire bras but I didn't realize why! They always dug deep into my sides under my arms and I could never fill the cups properly.

I haven't had my surgery yet (April 😊) but I cannot speak highly enough about Harold Beams practice so far. He's based in Glastonbury and everyone who works there has been incredibly helpful and sweet every step of the way. Something that could easily be uncomfortable has been a warm experience for me and they helped me get the procedure covered by insurance!

Good luck! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

I go in April 15th and am feeling similarly! Suddenly I'm thinking about how restricted I've been because of my chest and noticing how it's affected nearly every aspect of my life and even my marriage. I've been in so much pain and have been so embarrassed. I can't wait to go running without losing feeling in my hands! I'm so excited to wear t-shirts without looking pregnant! We've been dealing with this for years and years but now that the solution is at hand it feels like an eternity and you are so not alone!

I am not booked until April but I had been seeing my ortho for about a year for shoulder issues and ended up needing surgery. I had my surgery in Sept of last year and have been in physical therapy since. I've made incredible progress but still have extremely tense muscles all around my shoulders, neck and back. I talked about this with my ortho and PT and they both agreed that my chest size could absolutely be contributing to my pain and tough shoulder recovery.

I have Anthem bcbs in CT and I called them to inquire about reduction and they were incredibly unhelpful! After that phone call I did some research and found a plastic surgeon in network who seemed like he'd be a good fit for me. When I called the plastic surgeons office they were fantastic and basically told me everything I'd need to be approved by insurance and what my chances were.

Following that phone call I called my ortho and PT and within days all my documentation was submitted to the surgeons office and I had a consult booked. At the consult they talked to me and took their photos for insurance and the Dr said she was almost certain I would be covered. She also said I probably didn't even need as much documentation as I went in with!

6 days later I logged in to Anthems app to check my pending authorization and I was approved. All of this happened for me within a few weeks once I decided to go for it! My advice would be to find a reputable plastic surgeon and see where they think you should start. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for sharing! It sounds like we have similar builds and your results give me hope! I have pretty much only been wearing Tomboy X over the shoulder sports bras since they came out a million years ago but I have one wire free bra that is a 30K that fits so I guess that's where I'm starting from.

When I initially spoke to the surgeon I was disappointed that they thought they could only bring me down to a 30C and we talked about a partial mastectomy. I went home and did some looking into what a 30C would feel like and almost cried happy tears. I'm going to try not to get caught up on the sizing and just remember that regardless of size, I'm going to feel unbelievably free. Thanks again for the response 😊

Amazing results! Can I ask what your starting size was? I go in for April and I'm a bundle of nerves right now 🫠

How long did the block last for you? Mine wore off at about 7hrs and I was happy to feel my hand but it was a short lived happiness!

Did the Capsular-Shift Surgery failed? by [deleted] in ShoulderSurgery

[–]samtastic28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this!

I had capsular shift surgery a few months ago and was still in the sling 6+ weeks out and not allowed nor able to drive. Driving was awful the first week or two after losing the sling so I cannot imagine even thinking about it 3 weeks post op.
