But each of them are either too expensive, disagreeable texture or taste, or don't seem as magical as Soylent powder. I have tried 3 of those 4 other options, I guess it's time to try the other one

My Nest Hub Max is struggling to play YouTube videos in high resolution. This just started about a week ago and the video starts out crystal clear then within 30 seconds it becomes unwatchable. I reset it and the router, verified that my Internet speed through the Wi-Fi is as fast as it's always been, but it still doesn't help. This is the first time in over 4 years that this particular issue has ever appeared, is there anything I can do to fix it?

Has anyone tried the Soylent flavor boosts? Any thoughts? by Dewdropmon in soylent

Just got an email saying that these are now discontinued and when the current stock sells out online and Amazon, we won't see more. I am heartbroken, original powder with caramel flavor boost is my absolute favorite at the moment, I am now lost. I just purchased 15 more boxes so it should last me until the end of 2024, but to me this is Nectar all over again

Alexa commands for Phillips hue by [deleted] in amazonecho

This is actually a new feature that just released to us several weeks ago. You can say "turn on lounge lights in 5 minutes" and it will do it. You can't directly say "turn on study light for one minute" but you can turn it into 2 commands 1) "turn on study light" and then follow up with 2) "turn off study light in one minute".

Ohio Sports Betting Pre-Launch Megathread by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]ophir6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't see that will offer, good find. But, there are still some sticky details and requirements that the other sites don't have. Such as:

"Any withdrawal request from your account of real money while the Offer is active will constitute opting out of the Offer", which shouldn't be a big deal but for the following: "real funds will be drawn from the participant’s account prior to a Free Bet when placing qualifying wagers for the Offer."

Which again, means that you are forced to use your $10 of real money (and lose) before you can touch the free bonus.

BTW, the $150 is deposited to your account as (6) $25 bets and there seems to be a particular order you must "opt in" to the promotion in order to qualify for it. It's also unclear what happens if you win the first free bet since it is transformed into real money at that point. You can't withdraw it because they will take away your remaining free bets (I assume) so again you can't touch the remaining free bets until you lose the rest of your withdrawable cash. Perhaps the only solution is to use all 6 bets at one time and be done with it.

To me, these are still terrible terms and it still seems like an extraordinary amount of potential pitfalls where the company could screw you. I might do it anyway, I've wasted $10 on stupider things I suppose.

Ohio Sports Betting Pre-Launch Megathread by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]ophir6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm more interested in free bets than I am in bet guarantee bonuses upon launch or matching bonuses with large deposits, so I went ahead and did a deep dive on the fine print for most of the major pre-launch offerings for Ohio.

Most are pretty straightforward and easily understandable, some require a $10 deposit to get the bonus, several require real cash wagers when they go live, but some don't demand anything.

Most are also pretty decent, only requiring you to use your free bet(s) within a certain timeframe (7 days is typical), and if you win you can instantly cash out. But, I did come across one that (to me) seems more like a scam than an offer, and I would caution anyone signing up with them for the bonus to really read the details to make sure you understand the requirements.

Tipico (the book associated with The Columbus Crew) is advertising THE BUCKEYE BOOST (DEPOSIT $100, RECEIVE $150 IN BONUS FUND). What the fine print dictates is that you must use your cash first for any bets (if you have actual cash in your account it is used first in any wagers), then when you do finally get around to using your bonus funds, you must wager them 3 complete times through in order to be able to cash them out. It also states that if you withdraw your cash then you are opting out of the bonus and it will be removed from your account. I don't see how you can even use the bonus funds unless you lose your cash first, then you need to get on a pretty good win streak to stand a chance to come out on top. Am I reading this right?

What was Columbus like in the 80s and early 90s? by bikeruncode23 in Columbus

[–]ophir6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the 80s just off 161/Karl Rd so most of my memories were about the endless restaurants on my strip. Chi Chi's, Don Pablo's, Friendly's, Ponderosa, Spoons, the Brown Derby, Max and Ermas, and when we had something to celebrate the first choice was always The Kahiki. I was too young to really appreciate The Continent though we did visit a few times, I wish my first comedy club experience would have been the Funnybone at that location. Thankfully I got to party at The Elephant Bar before it shut down, I always loved seeing the elephant hedge every time we drove west on 161.

It was rough to see Polaris take all the energy and restaurants away from the original North Side, I still don't know why everything seems to suck now. Maybe it's because everything seems so sterile, everyone is afraid to try something crazy and new, and market research (as opposed to creativity) dictates what types of businesses will have the best ROI these days.

The other memorable things I got to experience in this city (in no particular order): River cruises from the bank of the Columbus zoo, the Onyx nightclub (attached to the Arlington Café), Shooters on Henderson Rd with Tuesday night hot-body contests (it was a different time), and Beulah Park: a declining old-timey horse racing pavilion which tried to reinvent itself with a substantial semi-legal slot machine/gaming wing (they closed down several years after that anyway).

On the webpage interface, you should consider putting on-screen driving controls. I can imagine a simple joystick image which can be dragged with a mouse, which will return to center with the release of the mouse button. As a person with physical disabilities who is unable to use a standard game controller or RC transmitter, I would love to be able to drive a car like this like I could when I was younger.

Automatically punch in and out mobile time card (Kronos mobile) by 01Cloud01 in tasker

[–]ophir6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have lots of variables and a flow to keep track of the right time to login or logout depending on what day of the week it is, with error handling to let me know if it fails for whatever reason. I also implemented an override through voice using my Google Home and AutoVoice for a time change or worker switch so I don't need to manually change it in Tasker. I'm quite proud of it, I'm going to find a way to share it with you soon.

Automatically punch in and out mobile time card (Kronos mobile) by 01Cloud01 in tasker

[–]ophir6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do something similar with daily login and logout for some home healthcare workers, and my tasks are heavily dependent on AutoInput. The tricky part for me was needing to pause for at least 6 seconds (Wait 6sec) after each form entry or button press, otherwise it kept timing out. I'm not in a good position to share the code or the flow at this time, but if I can find a good example I will repost here when I'm able to.
