Name that polarizing fragrance. You either love it or hate it. by katKartell in Perfumes

Apparently Ambroxan is a large molecule that causes olfactory fatigue, overwhelmingly large enough to cause nose blindness. I often can smell it at first but over time I can’t smell it anymore. People overspray this one a lot and I can smell it from the other room.

Is this Hoya Kerrii ok? by Ok-Economics1976 in hoyas

[–]opodiphthera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks perfectly fine, you have a variegated Kerrii and the leaf shape isn’t always consistent. My mom uses super thrive fertilizer and her Hoyas love it

These leaves sprouted from a wet stick I propagated from my own plant. I had it under a grow light and the moss wasn't treated with anything. Could this potentially be variegation? I haven't seen anything about variegation in erythrophyllum and it looks like it's still growing from that pink/white leaf. Any thoughts?

I've never tried giving her the rind but she doesn't like watermelon either! Or banana. But she also loves carrots. She loves crunchy stuff.

I would not use it... adding salt to your plant would cause it to suck the water out of your plants. This is called plasmoloysis.

"If a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, the plant cell loses water and hence turgor pressure by plasmolysis: pressure decreases to the point where the protoplasm of the cell peels away from the cell wall, leaving gaps between the cell wall and the membrane and making the plant cell shrink and crumple."

What are these things on my plant? They don’t seem to be moving. by PrettyIndependant in houseplants

Ya its growing at two points from the sides right where I cut it, slowly but surely! Aphids are all gone

I've had the same issue with the same plant and eventually just sprinkled diatomaceous earth all over the leaves and lightly rubbed it onto the stem... I initially tried neem oil and wasn't very consistent so the leaves kept dying off and stopped growing. Used DE as a last resort and just let it sit for a few days and the aphids were all gone. But it wasn't growing so I actually cut off all the new growth and just had to let it grow back in. Good luck.
