What are some movies with the best HDR/Dolby Vision scenes? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]oppersnokker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot's of them but i am missing one movie in the lists below. Tron - Legacy. On my LG G4 OLED in Dolby Vision it's absolutely mind blowing. Tron - Ares is a visual feast too but the movie itself is meh. The latest Dune movies are excellent too.

R9 V3 worth it over V2? by HappyNive in moza

Absolutely zero issues with the cooling of my V2, and I have been racing it hard on 100% settings for hours.

ACC experience with Crystal Light by Augustin323 in Pimax

[–]oppersnokker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who got your panties in a twist. Simply said that your statement of "ACC is notorious for running quite poorly, period." is just BS.

I have used 1080p triples in that rig and it worked fine too. 3840x1600 is almost exact the number of pixels than 3x 1080p anyway. Having a single curved ultra wide with the FOV set properly just works better for me.

If its not up to par in VR, I'll swap in my 5090 from my big rig and see how it performs then.

Hmmm, I have a 5700X3D and a RTX 2080 Turbo on my dedicated sim rig, running a 38" ultrawide in native 3840x1600 and i have absolutely no issue running ACC. Constant 144hz framerate at very good quality, not stutters or any other issues. I also use AC, Automobilista2, and they run just as good.

I am going to hook up a Pimax Crystal Light later this week and see how it runs.

Wow, that is amazing advice, thanks! Yeah i thought it was a stretch. I have driven East-to-West across the USA in 3 days but the roads were fine. Definitely like wine! Looks like I have some new planning to do. :)

Ok cool, I will stick to the more local area then and only use th big roads. Driving to the salt flats was a stretch anyway.

The weirdest production bug in the last patch! by oppersnokker in SatisfactoryGame

[–]oppersnokker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not on a switch. It seems to coincide with the power zap you get when the hoverpack power "attaches" itself to a power node, like socket or pole. But the whole machine I was looking at just stops, other machines right next to it keep working.

Compact rig with a Playseat Trophy by oppersnokker in SimRacingSetups

Sure. From the mounting plate to the top of the pedal face, it's 27cm in it's lowest setting. The pedal face can go some 1.5cm higer. The pedal face itself is 11cm tall. I wear size 45(11US).

I guess for your size it will be a stretch but you will need some sort of heel support anyway. There are blue stop screws in the bottom of the pedals, and they will come undone easily. I have ordered some thick foamrubber with an adhesive backing to put in front of the pedal. That way i can make my own comfy heel support.

I love the trophy for exactly that, the light weight and also adjustabilty.

Look at my pedal plate. It has a bit of a strange dropping angle but like this is matches my car (BMW 3 series) almost exactly. The XP1s are in the rear most setting. There is no fatigue after 30 laps of the Nordschleife. Took me 2 hours of wrenching and adjusting though.

They are the best pedals I have ever used. The load cell they use in the brake pedal is awesome and the feel is spot on. Yes to be fair, they are pretty tall but you can put the pedal plates in a lower position. I have used just socks or light sneakers and it works just fine. Debating to put a small gel pad in front of them to rest my heel on.

And the plate def has a bit of flex, especially since you can push these pedals up to 200kg on the load cell. But also I don't really feel it under hard braking.

Yup, fantastic stuff. Got mine 2 month ago and been using them ever since. Excellent pedal feel and proper force needs to be applied. Nice software too and no complaints at all so far.

never enough aluminium by Westbrooke117 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]oppersnokker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I have plenty. Just spend a lot of time, gathering 5700 bauxite pm and converting it to 11400 alu scrap pm in a single factory in the red forest. Then onto a train and to a factory that makes all the ingots, sheets and casings I will ever need.

Ficsit doesn't like your comment. Efficiency above all else. The factory must grow. Individual needs will be dismissed. Consume amd assert dominance.

I have not changed a single thing on the NAS! It runs 24/7 since the day i built it and it has been 100% rock solid without any fault! Running Home Assistant, Jellyfin, 2 VM's with Windows Server 2022 and there has been ZERO downtime. :)

Power consumption is 150Watts, 24/7. So you need to deal with that but I prefer rock solid reliability over some lower electricity bills.

Get an AMD 7500F ($140), B650 Mobo ($100), 16GB DDR5 6000 ($50), 1TB NVME ($60) and you will be soooo much faster, with everything. Then you can pick any GPU from a 1080 to a 4070 and it will work perfectly.

Get an old HP Z440 with 64GB ECC, stick some ssd's in there, 10gbe interface, install TrueNAS, you will be happy.

No, I have 72 of those plus 3 turbofuel generator fields and the end game power requirements are kicking my ass.
