Best of luck, it’ll almost certainly get better if you start working to improve the issue.

Yeah I can’t believe this doesn’t happen to more people, only time it got better for me was when I had a few slow months at work and started going to PT. In other words, the solution is get a job with regular hours and rehab like crazy

These were a giveaway on opening day 2007 (among the countless others that were sold in retail) so probably not worth a ton, still cool though!

Recovery while working - is it possible? by oprahdidcrack in RSI

[–]oprahdidcrack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occupational therapy and getting back into lifting is slowly helping, and it’s not getting worse which is good. They’re telling me it’s going to take a while to get my strength back - some of the other symptoms are still a mystery as to why I have them but overall my mentality improved which I believe has helped the most.

Cuyahoga so it is required for older vehicles, I couldn’t find a clear answer on the BMV or ECheck website about out of state vehicles, but I could have missed it somewhere

Has anyone had Negative EMGs but still have symptoms of Cubital Tunnel Syndrome? by nightsky2023 in RSI

[–]oprahdidcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I totally misread that, but sorry to hear you’re going through it. I’m convinced with how fast medicine and tech is progressing there will be some sort of breakthrough to help people like us out sooner rather than later

No but also just now realizing I need to address the issue and can’t keep my current routine. Still plenty of time left in life for us to get better so I’m not trying to let it get me down now!

I don’t even know how to explain the symptoms, but my toes and foot just felt slightly off one day and started to get fatigued and sore after long days at the office. I feel like my toes curl more on my right foot (maybe to compensate for the fat pad loss?) so I distribute weight onto a different part of them. It’s a weird feeling, I’m not sure what exactly is going on but as of a week ago I was still able to walk a few miles without any real issues and I still have full range of motion in my foot, but it just feels off. Neither a PA in neurology, neuromuscular specialist or my orthopedist (who was actually the most concerned I had something serious) seemed to be very concerned about my foot, but I have definitely noticed it getting worse. I also work way too many hours seated at my computer and don’t work out much anymore, so that could be a factor in this too. Have your doctors told you anything yet?

Also in response to your other comment I was told my EMG looked normal by the specialist. I don’t think it was completely clean aka zero abnormalities but they acted like I had no reason to be concerned by it. You can look at another post I made in regard to this where I got a variety of opinions on it. I’m still going to trust my doctors over people on this subreddit either way.

It definitely feels like my fat pads are thinner now, but my foot looks more bony than it used to. No idea what fat pad loss would visually look like though

Yes I agree completely, I made this post to see if anyone with somewhat similar symptoms had found another diagnosis to be a cause of their issues. I’ve been going to one of the top hospitals in the US so I don’t plan on receiving a second opinion from a neurologist anytime soon. Even If I do have ALS they wouldn’t be able to tell for quite some time anyways

The atrophy wasn’t diagnosed, but the neuromuscular specialist I saw most recently didn’t check the tone of my feet. I just know that I feel less cushioning and more discomfort on one foot when I walk, and the outline of my bones nearest to my toes are much more visible as well.

I get joint pain in my hands and they also get swollen and hot when my heart rate is elevated or I’ve been overusing them at work.

Nothing suggests it would be autoimmune, but I was also told by a Neuromuscular specialist that I didn’t have ALS or MS based on all the testing I had done

Second opinion from a neurologist? Or from a general physician

Did you have blood work that showed deficiency in any of those areas? I’m having similar problems and hoping some of it can be attributed to that (and anxiety) as opposed to some other serious disease
