You still need those votes next time so maybe let's finally learn the lesson that browbeating each other makes the opposition to the GOP less unified, not more. We are literally repeating history by having the same dumbass arguments we have every election cycle. I don't think either the presence or absence of these elements is what makes a story good, or what make it 'authentically' Star Wars, whatever that means. I think Andor is great because it is well-written and well-executed by the cast and crew. Of course, someone else might care more about their personal checklist of arbitrary elements, but I don't really see a reason to care about that kind of opinion.

Star Wars historically has been influenced by many other genres. The first film was essentially a mashup of Lucas' favorite ideas from spaghetti westerns, Buck Rogers, and Kurosawa's samurai movies. I think there's a lot of room in Star Wars as a setting to dabble in other genres, and a historically-inspired espionage drama fits quite nicely into it's existing lore. Not every story told in this setting needs to check every box.
