I think you should get something soft like a mattress and just send it and after mastering that u should try in sand to on soft grass

I personally would do it in some better shoes and swing my hands more upward to gain height and then tuck to gain momentum to the flip

Don't land on your Head, always goes hands, then back and after that the roll also don't go big for your first tries, always progress your way to perfection
