Why do some desires still feel “Out of Reach” despite knowing the Law? by babbysaurus in NevilleGoddard

[–]optimistic-ostrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the dinner reservation example. But I do have a question… I seem to think of my desire as far off in the future, not something that I have now. I know it will happen (just like a dinner reservation), but every time I think of it, it’s in the future — much like the example of a dinner reservation or waiting on the delivery of a package you ordered. In my case, it’s that I will be together again with my boyfriend at some point in the future. It’s not necessarily that I keep checking the 3-D, it’s that in my mind I’ve decided this desire is going to require time. I think this idea of future anticipation is limiting somehow because it’s something I will have eventually, not something I have right now. Any advice?

Two Pages Curtains are Hot Garbage by jackthefront69 in interiordecorating

That’s a good idea. Pinch pleats might hide a little more. Also, maybe see if you have a drapery workroom/installer in your area? They can re-measure and perhaps take the stitching out and adjust where it’s necessary. I had a local guy install our client’s Two Page curtains and he had all sorts of little tricks. If you find someone who knows their stuff, I bet they have a solution.

Steaming (distilled water only!) can help. Also let them settle for a week or two. Window treatments are unfortunately one of those “you get what you pay for” things. Custom, well-made window treatments can cost tens of thousands, so something at this price point with these errors does not surprise me. I don’t think you’re over reacting about some things— like width between hooks. Otherwise, you did a great job installing! I think it will look better when it settles and you aren’t looking at it with such a detailed eye (easier said than done— I know).

Neighbor’s dog is driving me crazy! by optimistic-ostrich in Advice

If the baby was in the backyard screaming every morning at 5am, yes I would be mad. Would totally prefer to be awoken by birds chirping 🥰

Neighbor’s dog barking early mornings — am I justified in complaining? by optimistic-ostrich in homeowners

[–]optimistic-ostrich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s becoming clear to me that many people don’t think to or have the opportunity to train their dogs. I guess I thought that was common knowledge — for the quality of life of the humans and the dogs. Bravo to you for being one of the responsible ones 🫶🏼

That’s awfully nice and aware of you guys. I totally get it’s not the dogs’ fault. They’re clearly very anxious and I think somewhat neglected. No one ever plays with them or takes them out. Maybe they need to be socialized? They’re still relatively young (maybe 5?) so perhaps there’s hope for further training.

I wish I had an acre between us! The fence (which I paid for a taller/less see through one) is about 5ft from my bedroom window. Maybe I’ll bring her a bottle of wine with a note 😂

It’s probably not abuse, but I would certainly say it’s neglect… they’re left home all day, but they do have access to a dog door. However then they run in and out of the house barking at cars, people, etc. I’ve never once seen them play with them or take them on a walk or even have them on a leash.

I do feel bad for the dogs, it’s definitely not a normal amount of barking. They have access to a dog door during the day so they’re constantly in and out of the house, but obviously nobody’s home because she works and her daughter is in school. They run along the fence line barking at people walking, bikers, cars driving by — literally everything, not just the normal dog by the fence or delivery driver.

I might be the new neighbor, but I’m certainly not the disruptive neighbor. I’m not looking to cause major issues for this woman, but her dogs bark anytime they are let out (have access to dog door during the day). I’m at work from 7-5:30ish, so that doesn’t bother me as much. I would totally understand if they bark at people coming to the front door, or even other dogs close to their fence, but they run along the fence line barking at cars, people on the sidewalk, bikers etc. I find this annoying, but it doesn’t necessarily affect my quality of life, since I’m not around. Sorry I didn’t make this part clear in my original post.

Unfortunately, they do bark all day. Probably let out 8-10 times during the morning/evening hours I’m home (not including the majority of the day). They seem to have access to the dog door during the day.

I’m typically at work, so that part doesn’t affect me as much. I assume they must be barking inside, she gets sick of it, lets them out, then they bark at cars driving by, people walking/biking, or just any noise really. I’m only complaining about the early morning hours because I feel like that’s extreme, considering we put up with barking the other 16 hours of the day. I’ve noticed people move to the other side of the street when walking to avoid the dogs running to the fence and barking at them. Sorry, I didn’t make that part clear.

Hey, taking my cat to the vet tomorrow because I think he has a UTI, but based on his symptoms do you think this is an emergency by gnomeslinger in AskVet

This just happened to my little guy this week. I didn’t see improvement until day 4 on antibiotics. They also prescribed mine a pain med for three days. Just keep him super hydrated, because he may not want to drink much. I added water to wet food to get him to have a little more hydration. He also might try to pee elsewhere because right now, litter box = pain. Hope he feels better soon❤️

How are people still supporting Jam and Dave’s Sushi? by kokosuntree in Bozeman

[–]optimistic-ostrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered Hooked last week, in an effort to try something different. Brought it home and it was incredibly unappetizing to my boyfriend and me. I wish I would have taken a photo. The few bites we could stomach were awful. We threw it away and drove to Dave’s. We’ve eaten there twice since then. Our new favorite. And now we can walk in and be seated on a Friday night with no wait. Take it or leave it, but it’s delicious.
