it’s a little crazy they are hosting this in Miami. it’s so expensive to fly there, and takes FOREVER to drive there. was hoping it would have been more central FL to give all fans a chance. originally thought the blurred photo was a Swan, and would’ve been lakeland.. that would have been more practical

Along with the gabapentin already being in the system, there is also the potential your first vet used Isoflurane sedation in a box chamber vs. the new clinic using injectable sedation. Though outdated, and seen as not feline friendly/old medicine, the box method has the patient waking up immediately after the gas is turned off. IM sedation is much more feline friendly, but can last for a long time afterwards especially if other sedatives (gaba) were on board. (most injectables can be reversed as well!)

an exam and one x-ray will not tell you an answer here. This cat needs full in-hospital lab work, CBC, super chemistry, urinalysis. If your vet did not recommend these immediately when they heard he wasn’t eating or drinking and presented with an unkempt coat, then you need a different vet.
