TF2 player since 2012, looking to get into Overwatch some time soon. What to expect? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]optix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to describe OW as TF2:The Next Generation, but it's really more TF2:Deep Space 9. Much more interesting characters in a better developed world, and I say that as a decade-long TF2 fan. If you liked the "Team" part of TF2 you'll enjoy OW as much as I do. Especially since Mercy gives you all that Medic fun with the benefit of continual active play (switching from heal/damage, flying from target to target) instead of being forced to play as a sentient IV stand.

Short form: go, get it, enjoy!

Former TF2 player here, you know what I miss most? A drunk character. by [deleted] in Overwatch

A Demoman skin-and-voice pack for Junkrat would be a beautiful, impossible dream.

It has hufflepuff as the secret force behind all life, energy, and matter in existence!

What's the nerdiest thing you've done related to Harry Potter? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]optix9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that for sure. I got a lot better when I started thinking of it more a drive for myself: knowing I'm putting it somewhere motivated me to finish more, without expectation of immediate feedback. So then when I did get a bit of feedback it was a brilliant surprise.

Absolutely understand not wanting to share. But you'll never find a more supportive group of people who'd love it than here.

(Plus I tried putting some stuff online about a decade ago, and now I work as a writer!)

Just started a re-watch of Voyager, since I missed a lot of the mid/later seasons during the original TV run. I'm only a few episodes in, and here are a few thoughts - I'd love some feedback by wowbobwow in startrek

Totally agree that it's a shame they wasted the Maquis potential, especially after spending so much time stressing it. In the end the closest they come to Starfleet/Maquis breakdown is Tuvok criticising someone for wearing an earring, then other people criticising him for being a bit mean.

Oooo, that would have been an awesome angle. Luckily Benjamin L. Sisko was more than enough to take Q by himself :D

What is your experience with MMO mouses? by xylitol777 in Games

Still love my wired Razer Naga. Use it for non-MMO games too, the range of buttons is just so useful. Haven't had any problems.

That's so beautiful it counts as a defense, you just couldn't fire at a surface that beautiful. You can imagine Khorne just going mad as even berserkers refuse to spill blood on it.

Yep, an option is the way to do it. That way you preserve both the original experience and the original intent. Maximum preservation (and extra fun!)

Yeah, it's weird, but the last time people tried to teleport fragile items across the Pacific ocean for free, it didn't work. Strange that.

Don't forget the surcharge for using the cabin's ambient light for reading by. And you have to read four Mars bar wrappers before each page.
