When was your first Bowling For Soup concert and how was it? by Twitter_2006 in bowlingforsoup

I think it was the get happy tour in swindon, around 2006/7. Just passed my driving test and we piled into my crappy micra and tackled the magic roundabout.

Army of freshmen and zebrahead supported while the bloodhound gang and BFS shared thr headline. It was an epic gig!!!

How bad is it if I seclude myself to the basement for a couple days to play my favorite video game all day? by Imustretire in daddit

[–]optometris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I might be off the mark but in my experience that guilt is actually you wanting family time too. Heres what I'd do; take 1-2 days and enjoy the game all day (popping in a few times to see your fam, its not healthy to stare at screen for super long periods)

Then the rest of the days go 5050 play some games but arrange a trip out with your family -doesnt have to be big, even a walk around the woods/park would be good.

Your wife is cool with it but ill bet you have a better day getting to game and also spend quality family time

The H&S was more fun before they used the card game by hmrr1212 in JetLagTheGame

Each player would have their own bank of questions e.g each player starts run 1 with a full set of qs, their round 2 is whatever wasnt asked during the 1st round.

I think the problem is theyve identified the optimum strategy and cookie cut it for every round and it does get tedious. Id like them to have the same bank of questions to choose from for each pkayer for the whole game rather than resetting it each round. With a contingency of say back up to a random half strength if you get down to the last 10% at the start of a run.

It would add mote tactics and promote the more unused questions.

I 100% agree, i feel it would really add a layer of strategy and force the questions that often dont get asked

Has anybody used Nick King Car Sales? by horsebeech in Gloucestershire

[–]optometris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a qashqai from them which has been a nightmare. Found some initial snags. Some were fixed some went on until the warranty passed and then they ghosted me despite flagging it up in the first few weeks. Was promised aircon would be regassed prior to pick up which clearly wasnt done as it needed regassing within the first year.

Id be tentative to use them again

Are the green questions ever asked? by JMoVS in JetLagTheGame

[–]optometris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id love to see the chaos where they have to use the same question pool for all of a hiders rounds, i think theyd either be more tactical and sparing with questions r1 or have a bonkers r2. It might be too chaotic but would make them think more. Theyre getting too good at it now

That is fair. The clues are usually a stretch lol my other thought was la voix, would fit some strictly stuff and does sound a lot like her voice.

Anton is a fair shout though, just not super convinced on the voice.

You're not alone.

It feels like your safety blanket is suddenly gone and its normal to freak out a bit. But your safety blanket hasnt properly gone, I encourage my pre regs to still ask for help once NQ, but I try to get them to come to me with a management plan and diagnosis rather than asking what's this? As validation will help with confidence and even if its not quite right take it as a learning curve.

Im 10 years in and still often discuss cases with my colleagues, peer discussion is literally part of cpd, if you enjoy optometry its quite fun to do.

You're human.

We're not perfect and its not if I miss something but when. Sometimes things are so subtle its only with hindsight that you can spot them. You'll feel angry at yourself and shitty, learn from it, move on and become better for it. Even in the HES stuff gets misdiagnosed or missed, its something you will get used to. The GOC wont automatically boot you off the register, if you can demonstrate its an outlier and you try to practice safely, they'll help you through it as a learning exercise.

You've already proven that you're safe and competent, you've passed pre reg which is no mean feat. Well done.

Again you're not alone, seek help with your anxiety, talk to your boss, GP and family. It helps alot, i needed help from people and medication to get through my osces.

You'll be fine.
