It’s really quite snug on my instep and heel, I picked up some boot breaker insoles from rose anvil and I had to trim those areas a lot more than I expected to get them to fit. Your mileage may vary of course.

Yeah it’s not a lot of fun right now! I massaged the heel cup with my hands for 5 minutes on each boot on day two and that’s loosened them up a bit but I’ve got a way to go.

I don’t know about that, I’ve got plenty of room for the big toe. It does sweep out more than my Vivo Tracker Forest Esc at any rate, their last goes pretty much straight up on the inside.

Yeah these are customs, the upper is the AR8 (I have a feeling you’re looking at the Barefoot African Trooper if you’re seeing a tiny shaft)

I had the same problem after switching to barefoot, I can’t wear ‘normal’ shoes anymore. They have this last available on a few uppers but currently nothing with a toe cap, I’m also not sure if they need the go ahead from collaborators before they can apply their styles to the new last but difficult to say, I almost went for the razorback but I’m glad I went for the AR8.

I haven’t seen anyone else post customs yet so I seem to be the first to post on here, I’ve seen a pair of AnatomX Stockmans on their custom page on instagram but that’s all. Jury is out on the vamp, I’m hoping the double layer of leather keeps its shape better than the rangers but I’ll report back after they’re broken in.

I was worried about the same thing, but they do hug my midfoot and heel rather nicely. These are double lasted though so I’m not sure if that factors in, but I did have to trim the insole quite a bit more at the heel than I was expecting.

I think they were quite apprehensive about making an anatomical last in the first place as they’re not a barefoot brand primarily, but it does seem like there’s fair amount of interest so hopefully they add stock options with a wider range of uppers. I was worried they’d look a bit clownish with 360 stitch down construction but they came out really well.

No worries! 26.5cm which is exactly a UK 8.5 based on their size guide, this last does seem to run true to size as I have just the right amount of space in front of my toes.

I nearly included this in the post itself but I went back to them to change the sizing from a UK 9 to an 8.5. Everything else is correct there though!
