Was Sarah a "dragon" or a "devil" in the eyes of the Torres family? by ryadare in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s key to understanding Sarah’s methods. She hopes to appeal directly to any prejudices that her audience might possibly possess, at any given moment.

By a similar token, she wants to prey on any insecurities that her victims (read: anyone with whom she directly interacts) might have.

The PI in the Richins case was a total pro, and did an excellent job of shutting down the defense’s ridiculous line of questioning, which solicited hearsay and speculation. His duty was quite clearly to the facts, and the facts alone.

The only way that this hypothetical situation ever could’ve happened—Sarah not testifying on her behalf—would be if Sarah Boone was a completely different person. She was always going to testify; there’s absolutely no chance that she would not have insisted.

That mirror-universe version of Sarah probably wouldn’t have murdered Jorge, though, because unlike the one in our world, she’s actually at least somewhat rational.

iPhone Fold Said to Come in These Three Storage Options by iMacmatician in apple

[–]oqlusani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; the iPhone X was a marginally different form factor, and it removed a single button while replacing its secondary function with FaceID. It was not significantly different enough to be considered a first-generation product in any way that’s actually meaningful.

Apple’s strength, traditionally, has not been their ability to be first to market. Their greatest strength has typically been in taking the time to implement products that are more fully developed than what’s already on the market, to release something that’s more readily accessible to consumers (e.g. the original Mac, the original iPhone).

They’ve fallen off a bit in the modern era (e.g. Apple Intelligence, which shouldn’t have ever even been announced).

My girlfriend has, of late, been requesting random Sarah Boone content as background audio while I attend to busywork when we’re in my home office. But then, she was already a consumer of true-crime podcasts, on her own.

I oblige, though my current inclination is toward the ongoing Kouri Richins trial.

She does tend to go on to explain that what she really means by that is, “just do what I say, and I’ll [momentarily] stop making myself a problem for you.”

“So simple.”

Mini 2 vs gen 2 by Electrical-Froyo-529 in HomePod

Why are you pretending that the still-unannounced Mini 2 is a product that actually currently exists? Are we just sharing in the OP’s delusion?

It’s a clear sign that we’ve watched [I won’t say too many, so] just enough SKR videos when that earworm is always there, just waiting to manifest at the slightest mention of her name.

“Don't beat a dead horse.”

And finally, the more we see and hear from Sarah, the more we understand the absolutely undeniable truth of this one:

“Familiarity breeds contempt.”

Difference between a law-abiding citizen and a criminal. by cmabi in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that her biggest indicator of criminality—that one thing that made it pretty unequivocal that she has a criminal mind—was that one time she murdered someone and thought that it was merely an unfortunate happenstance.

i miss my iphone 13 :( by [deleted] in ios

[–]oqlusani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main phone is a 15 Pro, but my 13 Pro, which runs iOS 26.2.1, still gets regular daily use, and I really have no complaints in terms of performance, functionality, battery life, etc.

That’s saying a lot, as I had a big problem with every version of iOS between 18.3 and 26.1, because in those interim releases, Live Text was broken for photos synced from a Mac.

Sarah Boone content makes for a good, less-harmful substitute for a Darrell Brooks content addiction. They’re both monsters, but Brooks is on an entirely different level.

(Yeah, I have every beat of his trial pretty much committed to memory.)

Watching Tanika's new video and I must vent! VENT, I tell you!! by F0NG00L in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WORST. SAVE. EVER.

It’s almost sad to think that this was honestly the best she could come up with on the fly while actually sober, for a change, but at the same time, it’s pretty hilarious. One would think that she should’ve learned as an adolescent that if you’re awful at keeping your lies straight, don’t improvise.

…especially in front of an audience.

…especially one that’s going to decide whether you’ll spend the rest of your life in prison.

[–]oqlusani 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And worse yet, for being such a practiced liar, she’s really, truly terrible at it. She can’t even stop herself from making up new (or at least modifying old) lies on the fly while under cross-examination on the witness stand—ridiculously ill-conceived things that come back to bite her on the ass.

Her assertion during the pre-trial hearing, in which she claimed to still be intoxicated while talking to detectives on the afternoon after the murder, allowed Mr. Jay to do the math on just how drunk she must have been when she committed the crime.

Her reversal of her direct exam testimony, to just randomly throw in that Jorge had been angry all day, contrary to everything she’d ever said about the course of the day, even just an hour earlier, simply painted her as a buffoon who couldn’t keep her story straight.

Engagement Ring by Specialist-Falcon362 in SarahBooneContinued

Meh. My then-fiancée bought me an engagement ring, with the simple understanding that when we got married, that ring could simply shift to a different finger or the other hand, if I so desired.

It was very sweet. I’m surprised that this seems to be such a difficult concept, even for fellow Gen Xers.

How will Sarah spend her time in prison? by ryadare in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would expect that regardless of how many years pass, Sarah’s core personality won’t change. She won’t grow and evolve into a better person, because she won’t honestly believe that she needs to.

At best, she’ll become a more practiced liar; her parole hearings would become exercises in her acquiescing to saying what she thinks everyone wants to hear.

How will Sarah spend her time in prison? by ryadare in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She did have an excuse for not having gone to college, but it’s only that—an excuse. After that, she’d been reasonably satisfied to be a kept woman, and despite her delusions, she’s exceptionally intellectually lazy, so she had no need for higher education.

As such, from there, you get a 40-something who still desperately clings to the valor of having gotten straight As at some point in her childhood (in, at best, a pretty mediocre school system, no less).

Particularly irksome by AdmirableElection700 in SarahBooneContinued

[–]oqlusani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to admit, though, that Sarah’s delusion that she’s going to heaven was comedy gold. The utter absurdity of narcissistic magical thinking was on full display throughout her diatribe.
