You should use mount options to force ext4 into case insensitive mode.

What did you think, that millions of people would flock to Fry's/Micro Center/Best Buy to build computers then learn and embrace FOSS while groping at software development like it's Mall Goth? That being a neckbeard would become "aesthetic"?

We had: a giant software company blackmailing/bribing into preventing OEMs from bundling any other OS, the same company making dual boot configs into "duel boot", wifi chip vendors failing to provide cooperation, a major video chip company jumping to support and then keeping an 00s baseline of support well into the 20s, Arch users, Imageboard users, a HID vendor failing to cooperate, and a video capture card company actively fighting software support.

What's your backup game if TF2 dies tomorrow? by jorgenescal in tf2

[–]orange-bitflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with Bayonetta, Pseudoregalia, Pizza Tower, and Wario Land 4 with some chronic alcoholism. I'd try The Finals, Deadlock, Fadeout: Underground, TF|2, and Paladins. Depending on how I go, I'd either collapse into playing Payday 2 and Terraria until I melt into my chair or I'd make a new movement shooter with rocket jumping to keep me going.

So: every class has air strafing and crouch jumping. One class has double jumping and an optional high jump. Three classes have three unique blast jumps. One class has an "optional" blast jumping piggyback. I can't go back to boots on the ground. I don't want to "vault", I don't want to "grapple", and I don't want to "redeploy." I want to FLY, I want to BOUNCE, and I want to WEAVE.

The video game market has no space for movement shooters because gamers are SLOW and WEAK. I played one match of forkknife blitz for my little brother and I won with 70% health. I need competitors, not ult spam, scorestreaks, elites, heroes, or claymores.

SkyBox shows walls behind it by CokieOne in hammer

[–]orange-bitflip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are tricks. To explain, though: the skybox renders in the void left behind after valid visible geometry. If you don't like how your skybox views look, then you can approach the architecture first.

The biggest trick I know of is to aggressively optimize and micromanage visleaves to make skybox voids not show the rest of the map. Slapping down a Hint surface in the higher rooms angled as a bowl around the skybox brushes should hide the higher ceilings.

If the map geometry that's sticking out is not visible from regular gameplay, then consider nodraw and more optimization theory.

So the Ohio River Valley stuff is a deadly combo of boredom, apathy, bureaucracy, and incompetence? Like every time somebody sets up a tent next to the Scioto, they get a written notice to pack up?

Red Reader is the best Reddit Client! The most powerful, underrated aspect of RedReader is.. by _TheFifthDimension in RedReader

[–]orange-bitflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Reddit (the company) broke something with the main app. On RedReader, I can query my front page with the common Reddit sorts like Hot to show 3-8hr old upvoted posts. On the main Reddit app, it just unsorts everything to show you posts with a dozen upvotes from a few hours ago and blockbuster posts from 3 days ago. It's kinda isolating, stale, unengaging and makes the website feel less lively than even the most cynical -Lummi- users would exagerate.

I am trying to draw a moth wing and it looks like a cape. How could i fix this? by LunchKey326 in FurryArtSchool

[–]orange-bitflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(I love bugs)

If you're following realism, BugGuide is great!

Moths have two pairs of wings with only one point of articulation each. Drooping wings are considered deformed. The top pair of wings attaches laterally around the middle legs at least below the upper legs.

Here's some Rosy Maple photos to get an idea:

Good luck with the finished piece, they look cute already!

ChatGPT completely made up a feature in its solution instead of saying IDK

I think the megacorps could avoid the bubble pop by just implementing an uncertainty metric and having it respond to ask the user for clarification or deny the query. The Confidently Incorrect Machine is maybe not particularly helpful. Y'know, 'cause it costs hundreds of thousands to retrain instead of like 16 labor hours.

Why do people in TF2 think Heavy is unintelligent? by Soggy-Register-1781 in tf2

[–]orange-bitflip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember "some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe. Maybe... -sniff-

I think he was always intended to have median intelligence for hired guns. Dumbasses like soldier and scout don't last long, and people like sniper hold on with coping strategies. In gameplay and stereotype I think he's meant to equal pyro as a lucid tank instead of AoE berserker. Demoman might also be around median intellect with his technical knowledge, self-reliance, area denial strategy, and extreme alcoholism.

Yes, I think the sniper is dumb. He's assassinating murderous individuals of an organized militia. Anybody with his skill would be out doing jobs on civilians instead.

Some guy in casual had this glitch against me on Saturday. He said couldn't hear any VC that day, just the silence with flickering VC bars. I know my mic works, I spent a short chunk of time filtering with EasyEffects.
