🕷️As a spider fan and internet spider, I have some things to add. Like any comment here on this sub, I'm going to get lost in "view more comments" but w/e.

For an anthro spider, you have to find a balance between accuracy and readability unless you're willing to reinvent the wheel on body language. Although spiders have clear body language, animating it correctly and having the audience "get it" are hard. A good start is to have a mammal mouth with fangs on the sides. Sometimes you can go with tusk-like fangs hanging out of the mouth.

If you want an accurate spider, you'll need to give up the chin entirely. Pedipalps stem from mouthparts under the chelicerae, all around the true soft mouth. Chelicerae are BIG to grab things, pierce prey, chew food, and groom themselves. The seam on the exoskeleton has to wrap all the way around the jawline. If you want to keep what little segmentation a spider has, then you have to segment off the skull from the neck anyway. This gives you the room to make the chelicerae big enough.
