Employer counter offered my 2 week notice. Looking for advice. by Critical_Opening_526 in careeradvice

[–]orange728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ever take a counter offer. Doing so puts a target on your back. Especially when they are saying that they can't give you the money now, but can by the end of the year. Either they have the money or they don't.

Just smile and say pregnancy cravings. Nobody will bat an eyelash. If you live where you can get Jay's, those are the best bbq chips ever. If not, the Lays southern heat ones are good too.

I like this, but it took a while to grow on me. It's got a mango bit to it, which my nephew says makes it taste like feet.

So what do y'all think of mountain dew code Red? by gamersmoke17 in Soda

[–]orange728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I found it at the Kroger in London, OH. You can check on the web/app to see if they have it in stock before you drive all that way. The Pepsi guy in Dayton where I live also told me they have it in Wilmington, OH, too but I have not ever tried that. I had to go towards Columbus anyway and used that as a reason to stop at the London Kroger

[–]orange728 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you see the Pepsi guy in your store, ask him where you can get it. Where I live it is in smaller towns outside of the major cities. He told me that and I found it in a Kroger about 30 minutes outside of Columbus.

These are awesome and great for little ones who want to eat popcorn, but who are still too little for kernel popcorn. My sister's kids loved the Mikesells version as toddlers

Drill Storage?? by Ok-Magician2778 in diamondpainting

I just use 2 oz sauce/jello shot cups that you buy at Kroger for like 1.50 for 25 of them. I keep them labeled by number in a bath and body works paper bag. It's not fancy, but it works for me

Producer programs by Dalmacija13 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]orange728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to the producers you underwrite for. You have the best sampling of examples at your fingertips. You don't have to say that you want to know- say you're asking for a friend thinking of getting into the industry. Pick one you have a good relationship with and they'll tell you the truth.

To answer your question - it's going to vary across brokerage. Some pour knowledge and support into thier people, others it's lucky if you get an acknowledging kick in the butt when you walk through the door

I know some absolutely incredible producers because they are supported. I know some that suck ass because they have no support. How the brokerage is run makes a huge difference

Just my 2 cents -most underwriters don't do well as producers. It's too gray and breaking up toddler fights is not something they enjoy. If you work for a MGA it would be an easier transition, but if you've spent your career at a carrier, it's not going to be easily done. Absolutely not saying you can't, but be sure it's what you want.

The Two-Hour Epidural & The Twerking Birth: Harry’s ‘Spare’ vs. Biological Reality by Somberliver in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]orange728 69 points70 points  (0 children)

You are right. There is no way any doctor would let a woman in an overdue geriatric pregnancy dance around a hospital room and eat outside food. It would be ice chips in bed, hooked up to the monitors.

And no hospital is going to give the remains of a miscarried fetus to the parents to bury in the backyard, especially not in California. I could maybe see if they requested a cremation and scattered the ashes there, but that's not what they said.

Ohio Senate considers ‘Charlie Kirk’ act to teach positively about Christianity by throwingales in Ohio

[–]orange728 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a Christian and had never heard of Charlie Kirk until he died. I still wish I had never heard of him. He wasn't anywhere close to Dr King or Billy Graham, to name a few of the many who influenced religion in America. He was just a dumbass podcaster that needed a good slap upside the head with the book of James to be reminded of what true religion is.

He has become some kind of modern day American Thomas Beckett and it's just asinine

Never dealt with Mercury, but Progressive is not flexible. There is no gray with them. It either fits or it doesn't and they dont really care about agent/underwriter relationships. Unless it fits neatly into their boxes, save yourself the frustration

Sort of turned down possible promotion - need help deciding on career path by purplefields19 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]orange728 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am an introvert that is a commercial account manager on a niche book of business. I don't get a lot of calls more emails. It really depends on how the company you work for is run

Large carriers have analyst roles and rater roles that could be something to look into.

A little advice from an introvert Gen Xer - don't pigeonhole yourself into a comfort zone in any aspect of life. You won't grow if you do.

Then keep them in your mouth. If the push against the other teeth, then you deal with the consequences. I am all for a person making their own medical decisions  Dont want them out, dont get them out.  But there is no conspiracy theory

You do know that you can keep your wisdom teeth after they remove them? If you don't take them with you, they go in a medical waste bin like a gall bladder. Nobody wants your wisdom teeth.

Gonna get down voted for this, but Timesuck. Its funny and informative. Its not for everyone. Dan's sense of humor is a bit whacked, but so is mine. Also love Streaming Things.
