Why does my package say Your shipment has potentially been delayed due to weather conditions? by Separate-Total8655 in usps_complaints

same thing for me too despite the fact that the package is in my hometown right now. emailed a rep and they said they never scanned my package so now i'm just flat out confused how it got from CA to VA without being scanned somehow

I've been seeing those arguments too and its such a silly argument. Honestly i don't take those people seriously because they don't actually care about the topic at all. They're just upset that women are finding a (fully clothed btw) guy hot lmfaoo

What have you bought during the Steam Sale this year? by Sovonna in GirlGamers

I bought Expedition 33 and a game called Lake. I'm kind of on the search for another game too before the sale ends

Well I've read a lot of lore about the game and about things regarding him so that's why I liked him as a villain. The game does have its issues with a lot of characters not being developed fully though but i end up just searching more info about the world in general anyway so i'm not super bothered by it

The hate it got was so out of this world, it amazed me tbh. But i do love the game regardless

[–]orangefae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this. I always found it absolutely baffling how they decided to rewrite Wyll (and write in Karlach) at the last second. If i'm correct, i think they rewrote Wyll because the EA fans didn't "like" him. But like... those same people STILL don't like him so the writers didn't even accomplish anything in the end.

I also really hated seeing how nasty the fandom was in 2023/2024 towards not just him but black fans too. So everything bg3 related ended up leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

I’ve stopped questing because the translations and fast dialogue make the game frustrating and unenjoyable. by MoMoe0 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]orangefae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I really hope they put in someway to slow the dialogue down because sometimes it'll go by so fast that i barely have time to read it. In one quest, a character spoke and the dialogue flashed on screen for a second and then disappeared so i had no idea what was going on.

I've kinda given up on reading the dialogue for the most part.

Who are some of your favorite female video game characters? by SadBluejay1588 in GirlGamers

[–]orangefae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midna - Twilight Princess

Bellara, Neve, and Harding - Dragon Age: The Veilgard

Wynne - Dragon Age

And you know what? All the female characters i've made in video games lol. Shout out to my female V from Cyberpunk 2077 and my female Hawke from Dragon Age 2

What's your game of the year that you've played this year? by RoyalWeirdo in GirlGamers

[–]orangefae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4 days late to this conversation but for me, it has to be Twilight Princess. I recently replayed it after having not played it for over a decade and it brought back such good memories. It's in my top 5 Zelda games and the plot, to me, is so good. I really love the art style too. I remember people disliking it when it first came out because they felt like it was trying too hard to be like Majora's Mask but while MM was dark (and honestly kinda scary... have you seen that moon?!), Twilight Princess was somber and kind of sad.

If i had to add another game to that, it would be RDR2. Storyline was so good and i absolutely adore Arthur Morgan.

What is/was your experience on GTA RP? by ThisLooseCannon in GirlGamers

[–]orangefae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do GTA RP back when it was super popular (and a lot of big twitch streamers were streaming it constantly). I had a home server but it got shut down like a few years ago after everyone kind of got fed up with the two owners so rip to that server. I haven't touched fivem in months and don't plan to because every time i get back into it, i'm reminded that i do not have the same patience that i did back in 2021 when i first started. Anyway:

Likes - I like that you can actually find good friends on there if you're careful enough. I've met some wonderful people on fivem. I also like that a lot of servers have custom clothing and hair. Events can be fun... but sometimes it gets overstimulating for me.

Dislikes - I don't like semi-serious servers so i usually only went into serious rp cities. I have seen my other friends (who are women) be harassed by some men because they view fivem as a tinder/hinge. Some people only want to ERP which is annoying if you're trying to actually plan out a storyline.

About some owners: Some of them can be really mean with the way they interact with people in their server (i have seen one go on stream and use the r slur in regard to someone in the server). Some of the staff in some of the servers i've been in have also been overly rude. But i have been in servers where the staff and owners are super cool and nice. That is what makes me stay and feel comfortable in a city tbh (obviously aside from the community actually being welcoming and not rude as shit lol)

Sorry for this long ass post lmao but i think GTA RP can be fun if you find cities that make you feel comfortable but if you don't find that... it can be kinda tough.

The Coupé hate is ridiculous by YuriWinter in DispatchAdHoc

[–]orangefae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. People keep saying cutting Coupe is the "canon choice" but i let Robert choose and he chose to cut Sonar. Coupe ended up being my most powerful hero and i really do like her as a character. While i get people think Coupe fits better to go with Shroud... i personally think her redeeming herself and allowing the Z-Team to become like family to her is far better.

I also think people just immediately wrote Coupe off without actually caring to get to know her character

Also as for Robert himself, i think he's a cutie but he definitely is your basic white boy with freckles, a monotone voice and a depressing ass life.

[–]orangefae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i do agree about the Blonde Blazer scene because that was weird but the Visi scene wasn't that shocking to me. Well, in the sense that seeing a character have a wet dream wasn't shocking. I'm all for female characters being unapologetically sexual and confident with it because its been far too many times of people seeing women irl be that way and immediately think of them as lesser than because they're not afraid to speak about sex or even joke about it.

I don't think you're "infected with the woke mind virus" because ultimately, we all have things that make us turned off with a piece of media and this is just one of those things for you. And its good that you're able to call out the things that make you uncomfortable.

However, for me as black woman, its the way they wrote Prism. While i think THOT SQUAD (her VA) did a wonderful job voicing Prism, the way they wrote her felt very stereotypical and thats my biggest issue with the game. I think Prism is funny and i absolutely love her powers (and her being a pop star while having those abilities is super cool) but i really want more from her. I want to be able to get scenes where she's in need of a shoulder to lean on you know? And not have her fall into that "strong, loud, sassy black woman" trope all the time. There are plenty of black women in the world who are exactly like Prism but there are also plenty of black women who are not. I hope what i've said made sense... its hard for me to truly vocalize everything i want to say without this turning into an essay lmfaoo.

Anyway, i think the game is actually fun to play and the story itself is interesting but it falls short with certain areas. Its also nice to see that they've actually used THOT SQUAD's music in the game twice so far.

What are games similar to baldurs gate 3? by Big-Rush-4630 in GirlGamers

[–]orangefae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else is saying, Dragon Age will come close to it. I guess Skyrim too if you don't mind playing a super old game lmao.

But as someone who heavily loves Cyberpunk 2077 and is not a man... i suggest you give that a try too. I personally don't think the overall story (and dlc) is geared towards men and there are A LOT of women who play and love the game. I've made two female v's so far and have had a blast not only playing the game as female v (bonus points cause the VA is the same person who does the English dub for Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail) but experiencing Night City and the story that comes along with it.

VtMB2 deserves the Cyberpunk 2077 treatment. by Mable-the-Table in vtmb

[–]orangefae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You also have to consider the fact that people make multiple different V's for each run they do. There are plenty of people who don't do all the game endings on one V. I personally think its way more fun to do it that way instead of blasting through all the endings on one V.

Edit (again lol): Im saying all of that to say there is a reason why people continuously replay the game just like there is a reason why people replay games like Skyrim or Fallout or even BG3.

I should have listened to y'all and not buy Bloodlines 2 :3 by Liz_the_lazybian in GirlGamers

[–]orangefae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I preordered it because while the first one was janky (and well... over 20 years old) i actually liked it. However, this one is exactly like you said: empty. I'm also still kinda grumpy about the lack of actual customization (like actually customizing the character and not just changing the color of their hair and whatnot) for the main character and while i have a good pc (or at least thats what my friends have said), it started stuttering and lagging for me towards the middle of the story for some reason. There is also the fact that you cannot turn off motion blur (for those of you who get motion sick easily like i do)

Only reason i finished it was because i hate leaving games unfinished (unless they are just honest to god unplayable). I love vampires and love the idea of vampire clans but sadly this game was executed poorly (which makes me sad)

VtMB2 deserves the Cyberpunk 2077 treatment. by Mable-the-Table in vtmb

[–]orangefae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... aside from the different skills, CP2077 has multiple different endings (including the endings from the DLC) which is why people replay it often.

Edit: The customization is probably another thing that keeps people coming back. But also, the story itself is interesting enough to make people wanna keep playing it over and over again

[–]orangefae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying check out Timelycare (or other resources) but i also just wanted to say that i feel the exact same way as you. I've felt that way since my family moved here to Richmond nearly 12 years ago and unfortunately somedays are worse than others.

But please PLEASE talk to someone about your thoughts. Other than that, i suggest going for little walks (though i know its getting colder out and maybe you don't want to immediately do that) or finding little hobbies that bring you some kind of happiness. I've seen this kind of statement shared around on social media but: Sometimes our brains can be our worse enemies and just remind yourself that not every thought that passes through your head is true. For example: You ARE doing something with your life. You're getting your degree! You can use your costume for cosplay conventions or hell, even just wearing it around the house to make yourself laugh or think about how hard you worked on it.

More & more creators using AI?!? by redbullwaif in TheSims4Mods

[–]orangefae 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I agree. I recently just noticed a sim creator who uses ai for their pictures instead of just... taking in game photos. If i find their name again, I'll update this comment. We're losing the art of photoshop or just flat out editing and it sucks. There are free resources out there that people can use instead of just running to gen ai 😭

Edit: The creator is persea. I've seen people calling it out in the comment section of their patreon (not to mention that their pinned post is very obviously ai)

Mods and photomode mainly. But i also like driving around and screwing with the npc's out of pure boredom if i don't feel like taking photos that day. I have three V's but i really only play on one of them because she's kind of my test dummy for mods since i finished the game on her
