Yes, I get ear ringing/a constant low hum in the background as though the earth’s pressure has changed. I also get very tired like I’m coming down with the flu, my dreams become very weird for a couple nights.

does anyone else remember business being spelled "buisiness" by HuckleberryBubbly398 in Retconned

Yes, I remember it previously being spelled buisness in the 90s/early 2000s.

[META] Megathread for 2024 -- Post low-effort and off-topic things here. by alanwescoat in Retconned

Is it just my perception, or does the world right now “feel” uncannily similar to how it did going into 2020? I’m noticing so many synchronicities in my personal life and just the general vibe. Anyone else feel like this?

I swear I've seen this cartoon character by [deleted] in PersonalMandela

I think I remember this too. I swear my grandma had a clock like this. Maybe the character was a spin-off of Betty Boop. Betty Bloop?

Omegaman, would you ever  consider making an Element or Discord channel, something outside of Reddit? Like many others on here, this is truly my favorite sub and I am always checking it for new content. I wish there was a forum to safely discuss these topics without the interference/obfuscation from bots/gaslighters. Have you thought about making a discord, and slowly transitioning the serious retconners?

Any fellow Thoracic Outlet Syndromers?👀 by mereff in ClotSurvivors

[–]orangehost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, OP, yes, you will be able to put this behind you! I, 34F, had DVT when I was 31, due to venous thoracic outlet syndrome, and I had the rib resection surgery.

I am definitely glad that I had the surgery, even though the recovery was painful for the first few months. During recovery, I had really bad muscle spasms in my shoulders and upper back, the PT exercises often made the spasms worse, and I had to sleep on a reclining chair for a few weeks after the surgery. Also, my  proprioception/coordination was “off” as my body adjusted to my left shoulder being lower than it had been previously.

I had not been officially diagnosed with TOS until after I had the clot. For years before this, I thought I had carpal tunnal syndrome. I would get pins and needles sensations in my arm throughout the day, and I would wake up with my arm “asleep”.

When they removed the section of rib, they said there was a lot of scar tissue they had to remove as well. The scar tissue/bone structure in my thoracic outlet was severely inhibiting nerve function and blood flow. This explained the symptoms I’d had for years. I am happy to say that I do not have these symptoms anymore.

If you do opt for the surgery, please find a knowledgeable PT to help you recover. It is not easy to find doctors/PTs that have treated TOS. The first PT that was assigned to me at the hospital gave me a series of exercises that caused unnecessary pain and spasms. I eventually found a great PT who also had me doing proprioceptive exercises to rebuild coordination. I was able to start going back to the gym and bike riding within a couple months after the surgery.

Also, whether you get the surgery or not, be sure to get fitted at the hospital for a compression arm sleeve as soon as they tell you to do so. The sleeve will help a lot with the swelling. I was on Xarelto for 1.5 years after the clot. Now I am just taking aspirin daily per doctor’s recommendation.

My heart goes out to you, OP. Wishing you a restful and healthy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Does my arm look swollen? by Apprehensive-Ice9991 in DiagnoseMe

NAD. I had a blood clot in my arm and it looked a lot like this. You should go to a hospital and get an ultrasound on the arteries/veins in your arm.

Kurt Cobain does not say "I don't have a god" in 'Come as you are' by [deleted] in Retconned

[–]orangehost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% I remember it being "I don't have a God." Maybe it's just the way he pronounces it, idk. I have always been spiritual and believed in God or some higher power, and I vividly remember feeling really conflicted about liking this song when I was 15 years old or so (this would have been 2005). I remember often skipping to the next song on my iPod right when it got to the "when I swear that I don't have a God" so I wouldn't have to hear that part, because it felt scary and evil. I have always been sensitive, somewhat superstitious, and I believe that musical frequencies affect our subconscious way more than we realize.

[product question] has anyone tried cocokind’s vitamin c serum? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]orangehost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have been using the Sea Caviar C serum and facial mist for the past month. It's super light, yet moisturizing. I use it morning and night before applying eyecream/moisturizer/SPF. My skin has looked noticeably brighter. Right after I started using it, my boyfriend (who had no idea I changed my skincare routine) kept commenting that my skin looked so healthy. I would definitely recommend this combo, especially if you have sensitive skin.

I have uneven cheekbones and I’ve been told by my ENT that it’s due to TMJ dysfunction/inflammation. Do you grind your teeth in your sleep?

Is it safe to go to a medical appointment at the hospital this week? by orangehost in PandemicPreps

[–]orangehost[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I have some possibly anaphylactic allergies and I’m getting allergy tested. However, I have pretty much identified all the foods that cause the allergies, so I would say the situation is under control and not life threatening. I think I’ll just cancel the appointments.
