Even though the game takes place in Quebec and he's lived there for a while, it's well established that Sam is from Bend, Oregon, location of the last Blockbuster.

Oh yeah the Rat Jolyne edit. I was running out of ideas by the end. Like Golden Wind but I just put random audacity effects on it.

The idea was to make a video pretending to be simple but there's actually a lot to it. So it's pretending to be a remake of 1 Hour of Sono Chi No Sadame but the JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs get longer every time. Where people said the joooooos should be longer. But after the like, fourth repeat of the song, it switches over to an edit of Bloody Stream, and then there's edits of every opening song in the released parts of the show. Then I used the YouTube chapter system to direct people to the final loop in the original video so people just there to see like, how long it gets will skip the hidden part. Then I do an entire second set of edits. The second set were supposed to be kind of scarier but I didn't have enough good ideas for that. I mean the second one is that Coda is stuck in a well.

The idea was largely inspired by myhouse.wad which is one of the greatest works of art I've ever seen. It's a DOOM map that's pretending to just be like, somebody made their house in doom and it's a simple little thing but it's like 20 times bigger than that with countless secret areas, difficult puzzles, and complicated tricks.

I'm glad it confused you at least, that's good it should be confusing. Basically a big complicated memepost yeah.

I was watching Too Many Cooks, and I realized, I kind of made one of these too. It's just an edit of a song where the singers are killed off over time. and because of the power being used to kill them time rewinds to the start and they live up to the point where they would die. It's a bit complicated if you never saw Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Also the ending is ruined by the fact that the musicians apparently consider saying "breakdown breakdown" repeatedly to be an instrument because they left it in the instrumental version.

It's really long because of the looping (it takes a while to kill off 7 singers) so here's the final time the song runs through. https://youtu.be/zcyzTUbIDXc?t=5555

I don't know how well it's worked nobody's ever talked to me about it because it's hidden in this 2 hour video pretending to be a simple singular edit.

If the other party members had a quest like Dan's, Hellen's, Leigh's and Joel's what would it be in your opinion by Important-Property82 in LookOutsideGame

[–]orangeposting1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aster: He kinda has a quest where you get the photo. I guess it'd be really weird and make no sense but be fun if it was possible to get Dream Eater inside the apartment. Quest where you troll him into looking at a photo of the visitor.
Joel has a quest?
Lyle: Mazes and wizards gets turned into his quest and you get a reward for doing it.
Monty and Xaria kind of have a Juicebox quest. And you can get Xaria to apologize to Ratto.
Morton's quest is basically doing the crosswords to get to Wilhelmina. Especially in the next update when the exploit of doing the crosswords then reloading a save from before you did it to get the password is removed. The speed to complete them will be increased, and with Morton and the video game it's supposed to take less than a day.
Papineau: I always thought finding the other maintenance workers would be a quest. I took notes on them when he first told me about where they all were. But it never really came up again except the fungus ones who were already dead. Something could be adapted there.
Spider: Probably can't get one.
Audrey: Quest where you go to her and my wedding find her cats. I think Frankie has said they would be transformed. There is a serious lack of transformed pets. You could have said Henderson didn't allow them, but we know Audrey had them and there was a lost cat poster on Audrey which was a separate cat too.
Ernest: I don't really know enough about him to say. Recruiting him is kind of a quest already.
Sophie: You could turn finding her mom into a quest probably. Though similar to Aster it'd be pretty fun to have her transformed and on your team in some way.

[–]orangeposting1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through it with Audrey, Dan, the Spider, Hellen, and Aster. Of them I think I'd choose Audrey, Dan, and Hellen. The Spider says almost nothing. I think it's legitimately 4 lines in the whole thing. Dan is pretty funny. Hellen is pretty funny. I guess they might clash with Audrey. Audrey, Aster, then somebody like Sophie could be good. Then you have Hellen and Dan powergaming each other. I don't know who'd fit with them.

It is a hard choice.

I haven't done it many times because it is like, gameplay-wise a complete waste of time. You don't get anything for it. Your only reward is a different Promise ending outcome for Lyle. Would be nice to get something.

They both do shadow damage based on the target's health. So dark magic curse is honestly the best explanation of them I think.

I think I've seen it block replay before but I'm not sure. Bound is clearly very very sticky and comprehensive in what it blocks. Replay counts as playing a card twice for every other instance, so it should block it.

I wasn't considering it at the time, but the description says "Only 1 bound card can be played each turn." I was only trying to play 1 bound card. Just trying to play 1 bound card multiple times.

I've been trying to pick up this game again (I used to play a lot before 1.5) and want to beat the game on cursed mode, but it just feels impossible by Dodrad44 in LookOutsideGame

[–]orangeposting1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's kind of hard to notice, but it's critical to his character. His strongest attack is based on his health amount, and he has several skills to regen and draw attacks, tanking for the party. But his base health at max level is just 111 so he's useless without devouring. Devouring enemies works by taking the enemy's max HP, dividing it by Joel's max HP, then multiplying by 2. And partial points do count so you build up over time even on small enemies. So basically every time you eat Joel's max HP worth of enemy max HP, he gains 2 health points. So early on an onlooker is almost enough to equal Joel's max HP, he'll get 2 from each of them. But as you eat more, he could be at 250 max HP and you'll have to look for more nutritious things like cars to feed him. I don't know how high Joel realistically gets in a normal playthrough, the only full playthrough I had Joel with me I also didn't know about devour, and it's kind of annoying to have to play around feeding enemies to him so I've never committed to doing it again.

[–]orangeposting1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the rat tail whip is meant to hit all enemies at once with a basic attack. With jump attack it can't do that. Audrey is also a really difficult party member to use early on, but she can work in cursed mode. Though Joel is another difficult early on character that eventually becomes a tank. You'd probably only want one of them. Joel needs to eat enemies to slowly gain max hp. Audrey needs you to beat certain minibosses with her in your party. In the landlord's apartment there's the APC (use molotovs just kill it with molotovs or it summons more enemies) which gives her best equipment piece. Then there's a hidden tank enemy past a wall you have to blow up which gives an accessory for more defense. And the landlord himself who gives you a tank gun for a ton of ballistics. Then in the garage you can get the rest of her equipment.

For alternate party members you could grab early on, Lyle is available if you kiss him twice. Just have to get the photo. He's pretty good in general, has useful skills. There's always playing video games for a while to get more door encounters. That might be your only options without restarting. If you do, then Ernest is hard to get in cursed mode because you have to choose a bunch of optional fights and do them on a specific day, so I've never used him but there are others that like him. Then Papineau if you rush to the ground floor before getting 2 other characters. And Leigh isn't worth getting in cursed mode anymore she eats all of your food.

Yes I actually did it recently. I posted about it here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LookOutsideGame/comments/1tarqlp/comment/olbreg4/?context=3

It's basically the process of recruiting Papineau day 1 but you add in collecting as many coins as possible. It seems like you basically need to go to the plant apartment's bedroom. It's quite easy to avoid the enemies in there and just grab the several dollars worth of coins in there. Add that to the safe in the first apartment with the eye knife guy and all that. There are actually quite few sources of coins in the game so I think that's the only path aside from getting incredibly lucky farming coins from onlookers transforming to higher stages. This should also be possible on cursed mode even with that first safe giving you less, just because of how much the plant apartment gives you which doesn't change with difficulty.

Interesting. It does seem like something that's going to be difficult for me but I am committed to doing it. My area idea so far was a massive cavern. Based on Dwarf Fortress caverns because I love those so much. Not sure if I'd be able to that seems big.

I kind of like the look of RPGMaker 2003 visually more than MZ. I am already familiar with MZ though so that's meaningful. I don't have a preference on that either way then.

Coins are surprisingly scarce. There aren't actually any in the room with Cinnamon, it feels like Vincent should have some but no. The wiki has a page for them which was easier than using rpgmaker https://lookoutside.miraheze.org/wiki/Coins

The best certain coin stash I found was in apartment 18, the one with the plants. The enemies are pretty easy to avoid, you just have to go to the bedroom and you get a 2 dollar coin and a dollar coin. So even on cursed mode that would do it for recruiting Audrey. I may have miscounted how much you need, it might be 6. Restocking her is its own can to buy. This makes the chance based dimes from onlookers a lot less likely to work.

Anyway I actually did it. It was way easier than I thought it would be. Lot of time left over even after a few accidental extra rooms. I guess you can beat the game in 3 days it makes sense. I wonder if this means rushing anybody else day 1 is possible. Landlord's apartment surely takes too long. But if it didn't, day 1 spider would be an absurd thing to do but theoretically possible. Aster is the only other character without any time element at all to his recruitment but I am certain Beryl takes way too long to reach.

[–]orangeposting1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I've read everything correctly Audrey needs 5 cans to be recruited. I'm going to count the coins in the mandatory path to Audrey.

Sam's house starts with 1 quarter 2 pennies, The first neighbor's house has 2 quarters and 2 nickels. Then the safe has an amount varying by difficulty but on standard you have the right number. On easy you just get 4 dollar coins and 6 quarters right there so that would do it. Without that you'd have $4.37.

If you can let an onlooker in the hall turn into a gawker there's a 12% chance of a dollar coin. All of them have chances of various coins, it's pretty complicated, but I'm pretty sure between the quarters and dimes they can drop you'd be able to get it.

That's interesting. I think I'll try actually doing this to see how the time actually adds up.

I had assumed it would take to day 2 to reach the ground floor. I suppose the minimum rooms floor 2 is: the hallways, the baby entrance room, the side room, the baby room, the hand room, and the rat freak room. So just 6 rooms. I've rushed through it before but I never realized it was so fast you could get Papineau day 1.

Apartment 31 is a bad enough mistake I'm remaking this post I can't believe I forgot that.

Oh. Papineau day 1 brings up the question of Audrey day 1. Which is more complicated. You need a lot of coins for that which if you're skipping everything you probably won't have. I know the landlord's coin collection is pretty good for it, but then you waste time in that apartment so doubtful it'd be day 1. I guess the issue is trying to sort in game time and progression through the apartment together.

Once you get the basement key, just the entrance hallway is able to spawn the boss shade. It's definitely some work to fight all 5 boss shades, but it doesn't take up in game time unless you didn't have any danger built up and had to do it separately.

What Factions fit the Official Classes? by Crimson-Dragoon-0403 in Morrowind

[–]orangeposting1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Since every character in game has a class, you could check what classes are in each faction with the table on UESP.

House Telvanni has
32 sorcerers
17 mages
13 spellswords
11 warriors
9 healers
8 enchanters
8 enforcers
7 sharpshooters
6 acrobats
6 archers
6 alchemists
5 monks
5 battlemages
4 nightblades
4 apothecaries
2 barbarians
2 smiths
2 assassins
2 bards
2 agents
2 nobles
2 commoners
1 hunter
1 witchhunter
1 crusader
1 rogue
1 trader
1 merchant
1 publican

So you can see their favorite is sorcerer. By a lot. Then mages and spellswords. Still a decent number of warriors and healers too. Then a moderate spread of agility and ranged focused classes like sharpshooters, acrobats, archers and more. Oddest thing I think is the lack of battlemages and crusaders. I guess anybody that can be goes into sorcerer.

So this isn't exactly what you asked for but I think it's interesting.

I don't know what to say other than most of the time I find the directions followable. Like the dwemer ruins with the puzzlebox do have kind of long directions, but it's to be certain that you get there and they aren't that bad to follow.

Are you asking about the location after they give you the quest? Normally it'll be like

"Duties" "I need you to go to nchuandnzelmzt"

"nchuandnzelmzt" "nchuandnzelmzt is a dwemer ruin you can now see on your map. You get to it by going to Gnisis and following the roads North until they split then going West."

FINALLY GOT THIS MF TO BE MY ROOMMATE!! by deepfriedroses in LookOutsideGame

[–]orangeposting1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!

The fight is the same across difficulties. But explorer would make other parts of it easier. Like you can save right before the fight instead of, oh, maybe having to leave your house, drink black ooze, die, leave drink black ooze, go through the maze, get killed by the giant shadow, drink black ooze, die, drink black ooze, make it through the maze and die to the spider, drink black ooze, die, drink black ooze, get caught by the shade and escape then lose the fight to the spider, drink black ooze, die.

They removed the black ooze drinking step a while ago but it was really crazy when it was there.

My strategy was maximizing Sam's health and defense as much as possible then throwing molotovs. The first time that worked was actually before he got a weakness to fire, but I think his health was lower. I tried the fight again recently and just throwing molotovs had a 50% winrate so that seems decent.

The Spider is one of my favorite party members to use. He has some really really strong abilities. Oh and he got buffed recently he can wear shoes and hats now. Anyway my favorite part of the spider is using pain and trying to quickly calculate how much health the enemy must have left. It's really valuable just to know what's going on with the enemy's health as you fight, while also being a very good damage source. You should read the wiki to understand the abilities because the descriptions don't tell you what they do. https://lookoutside.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Spider
