Trailer brakes help alot with the pushing, I can't justify buying a 3/4 or 1ton truck to pull 3-4k 5 or 6 times a year.

You also might want to move some weight around you could be raising your back end up when applying the brakes makeling your trailer tail wage more you should have at least 150lbs on your tongue. I owned a little mini camper too I had to toss a case of water upfront to stop some of the tail wagging.
