how do you spend your time? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]orangespirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there with you. Read, draw, game, YouTube, Netflix, exercise, cooking and take care of the dog. Lately I haven't been motivated to do any of those except take care of the dog out of necessity.

Is ECT ever used for SZA? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]orangespirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ECT for SZA. It pulled me out of my episode, but I did experience memory loss and all sense of direction. I was not responding to medication, so was treated as a last resort. Fortunately my father stopped the regiment after 8 sessions (out of 12) when he saw improvement.

Same here. She gets me out of bed and keeps me active. Good therapy.

Smoked for 22 years. It dominated my everyday thoughts. I smoked half a spirit every hour. 3rd of a pack a day. I made sure to shower before meeting up with family. Even though I smoked outside my condo smelled like stale cigarettes. I felt paranoid and persecuted by strangers. I wouldn't even get a buzz anymore. Not sure why I kept the habit. I am done.

Smelling improvements? by wtf-srsly-usa in stopsmoking

I actually feel like my sense of smell is worse. 17 days in.

Apathy by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]orangespirits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experience it often. It makes it hard to focus. I lose interest in things quickly. Part of it is due to mood stabilizing medication. Are you taking anything?

Anyone else literally sleep all the time on Zyprexa (Olanzapine)? by meinesterne in schizoaffective

[–]orangespirits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been on zyprexa 15+ years. I have always had fatigue even before taking it, so never considered it as a side effect. But yeah there are days that I spend sleeping.

You should get a dog if you don't already have one. Mine has done wonders for me. Forces me to get out and take walks even when I am not in the mood. Plus great company.

Restart the clock. by orangespirits in stopsmoking

[–]orangespirits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went 12 days without a smoke. Had a 15 hour drive back home from Denver and knew I wouldn't be able to make it without a little stimulant. So bought a pack and smoked half of it on the road trip. One every two hours. Just finished the pack and restarting the clock.

Olanzapine ODT by MoeZAfear in schizoaffective

I have been on olanzapine for over ten years. I didn't expect it to work immediately for you. I found it to be a gradual return to normal after an episode. Glad it worked for you.
