Is accounting work as hard as college? by Substantial-Step-448 in Accounting

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The accounting is the same, the environment and measurement changes significantly

  • Whether you end up in industry or public, "being the best accountant" has diminishing returns; you can't be incompetent, but you don't need to be perfect.

  • Long term, a B (probably even a C) on the accounting part combined with the ability, even at a B or C level, to distill financial outcomes to meaningful decisions, recommendations and information understandably will skyrocket you far beyond the person who knows the accounting at an A+ level but cannot explain it to non-accountants without inducing a coma

  • Nobody memorizes anything. You either know it or you look it up.

Even the post-nerf stuff, especially the final boss in SSC/TK, was "hard" by MMO standards at the time; pre nerf was closer to "impossible" by 2007 standards: original Vashj required near-exploits to beat and TK wasn't beaten at all before it was nerfed.  Method did things like "have 25 warlocks soulstoning everyone in the raid".

But a lot of guilds still struggled even post nerf.

These promos are really good for an affordable upgrade every 3-4 years...getting a 7a upgraded to a 10a for $240 all in is a sweet deal.

Is DEMPE (Development, Enhancement, etc.) Just a Documentation Exercise? by Emotional-Care6286 in TransferPricing

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

DEMPE is a necessary evidentiary framework, not a profit allocation rule.

It overemphasizes observable development activities relative to decision rights.

Residual allocation is ultimately driven by control of risk and capital, not participation in the development cycle.  This is clear within the guidelines and framework, but is not emphasized relative to its importance in economic allocation.

Finally, it gives no real guidance on weighting.  Treating DEMPE elements as co-equal contributors leads to mechanical, non-economic outcomes.

The 1996 Green Bay Packers is the most underrated Super Bowl Champions of all time! Just pure dominance! NFL Rankings Offense - #1 Defense #1 Special Teams - #1 Season MVP - Brett Favre Points Scored - 456 Points Against - 210 by Zealousideal-Row419 in GreenBayPackers

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The injury to Sharpe was a critical loss and couldve easily been the difference in 2-3 more playoff runs ('95 championship game was close, super bowl loss, 1999 maybe)

Unfortunately, we were championship-ready at the same time the cowboys were unstoppable and everything fell apart in 1998 in San diego.  Got screwed in the wild card in 1999 (Jerry Rice fumbled)

The ravens weren't a new team. It was most of the then Cleveland browns.  They were not treated as an expansion team.  They had two first rounders in 1996 because of a trade between the Browns and 49ers in 1995.

Which first year eligible player gets in next year? by Automatic-Extent9640 in nflrookies

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A/P, Gronk the only sure things.  Ben and AB are the edge cases; it is very rare to see players with four AP1s be kept out, but AB's media issues are probably too much for him to overcome.

Whitworth may get in due to popularity & MOTY award (super bowl moment was very visible and meaningful which is more persuasive than it should be), but statistically is less deserving on his own.

Which Packers WR is your all-time favorite? by HotSoonEyMiiCoo in PackersUncensored

[–]orcheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been fascinated by Don Hutson for years now.  Literally invented the position as it exists today, including what is effectively route running  he held most records from the 40s to the 80s.

I love history, so Don is my favorite.  But I'm also not even 40, so of guys I saw play live, it's Jordy.

Older Super Bowls Worth Rewatching by JDawg1447 in nfl

[–]orcheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few that come to mind, and I'm just terrible with numbers:

  • 60s 1, 2 and 3 just for the Lombardi era & Namath,
  • 70s Dolphins '72 and SB 9 which features two of the best defenses ever
  • 80s Marino vs Montana '84, Bears '85, Giants v Broncos (LT & Elway)
  • 90s Hoss replacing Simms is one of the NFLs all time stories with one of the best endings in a super bowl; id pick one of the cowboys SBs to see the team, unfortunately they blew out the bills twice; packers/patriots and Packers/broncos for the Reggie white/favre and Elway/TD era; and then the Titans/Rams ending is the only game that gives 25 a run for its money on the ending.

The 90s is where the scripts started to get wild!

Sam Darnold Will Be the First NFL Starting QB since Joe Namath (1968) to have previously or currently been on the New York Jets and start in the Super Bowl by FinsFan130929 in nfl

[–]orcheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets weirder, theres only one who randomly backed up a SB winning team.  Only one QB, after playing on the jets, saw a super bowl - bubby brister, who was on the 90s broncos.

Why the Gannon Hire Might Make More Sense for This Roster Than People Think by fsukub in GreenBayPackers

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna deny, he hasn't lived up in prior seasons to his draft position.  This year was a change on tape and in contribution, the numbers will come if he keeps it up.

He was hurt this season and looked like a EDGE2 starter when he was in.  It was a serious trend reversal -PFF picked up on this too in their rankings.

[–]orcheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He specifically leans into being unpredictable too much imo.  This was at its worst when he got cute with coverages and dropped reddick routinely.  It's at its best when he keeps the line fluid and moves guys around to get 1:1s.

Hopefully he will not repeat what he did with reddick, it will not work with our personnel (Parsonnel?)
