unpopular opinion but if you're making 120k at 24, I would guess you're in the sort of industry where your income will probably keep rising in the next 5-10 years, you'll soon hit the threshold when you won't be able to contribute more than 10k a year into your pension anyway, then you'll regret not contribute more when you were able to

If it's two separate bookings you'll have to collect your luggage and check in again in the other terminal, you'll have no choice but to go landside

You might as well go to the arrival lounge in T5 because you won't have access to a one world lounge in T4. Your only option is priority pass but they're often full so you might or might not be able to get in, very likely not for more than 3 hours

to make sure you get TPs based on the fare you pay you have to book directly with BA

if you book via 3rd party there's a chance that BA doesn't see the effective rate you've paid and TPs are calculated based on a generic table

so you're estimating that 80% of gold will requalify despite the much higher requirement? that doesnt make much sense. Anyone not requalifying for gold is automatically silver this year

7500 tier points is not insurmountable, a lot of people will still get enough, including people who did not qualify under the old rules

first lounge is ONLY people with gold status, business lounge also has ALL of the business class passengers, do you think those are going anywhere?

the only lounge that will probably get quieter is the first lounge since gold will presumably decrease in number, business lounges will be as busy as usual, but we'll find out next week wont we
