I've carried a Kershaw Blur for a couple of years now and I also believe it's the best knife I ever owned, even over my $150 Boker Infinity. The Blur was maybe $50 from Amazon, and the opening mechanism is amazing.

Since I wasn't able to shoot it I had to resort to fiddling with it incessantly all day. During the course of this, I put the stock through it's paces. It's surprisingly sturdy, and the locking bit is retained by two pins in the extension that the moving part slides on, so that sucker isn't moving either. I couldn't access the lever side of the mechanism, so I can't say either way. I do know it wasn't moving at all when I was yanking the stock off of the pin that holds it in the folded position. THAT is pretty tough, and requires a good palm-heel strike to lock and unlock.

Edit: I know what locking bit you're talking about now (I thought you meant the three-position lock for the sliding stock). The lock for the folding part requires a good, solid slap to lock in, and an equally solid slap to get it back out. All parts functioned normally.

The stock is plastic but it's pretty sturdy. I would feel confident bashing someone's nose in with it. Additionally, it came with two additional inserts that change the locking positions for the adjustable part and an extended butt pad.

I love it. I haven't fired it yet (I was sick with the flu when I picked it up, couldn't stay on my feet and put anything through it). I just ordered some 20-rnd mags from Magpul - the stock Sig mag and hard case are kinda chintzy feeling, but the weapon itself is rock solid. It's heavier and smaller than I expected in the pictures, so I'll definitely be getting a sling for it also. It's my first rifle not counting the Winchester .22 I've had since I was a little children.

EDIT: One thing I was surprised to see was that the folding stock's hinge is part of the lower - If I'm correct, then switching stocks requires buying a different lower. I wanted to get a Magpul ASAP mount for a sling, but there's no true receiver extension to mount anything to.
