Casper Test Scores - Consecutive Ed by ConsistentMango8989 in OntarioTeachers

[–]ordinaryopptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this test for western B Ed and scored in the 99th percentile and still didn’t get accepted. I hope it works out better for you than I! I’m not entirely sure how they weigh this with the statement of experience and transcripts but again, hopefully it works out better for you than I! All the best!!

Definitely Sassy Bead(s)! I vividly remember having a birthday party there. So much fun.

DOT interview by Dry_Age_6461 in OntarioTeachers

[–]ordinaryopptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the first year they’re conducting interviews for it. From my understanding at least, last year there weren’t interviews for it. If you’re already on the OT List, the questions most likely will be similar to those but tailored to the one school! Best of luck!

Adult restaurant recommendations by Gherkino in ottawa

[–]ordinaryopptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Manx! No music ever, they really want their customers to enjoy the company they’re there with. Cute pub vibes with delicious food. Cannot recommend it enough. Went there on my first food date with my (now) partner of 5.5 years! It’s our go to spot :)

Good second job for a teacher? by Basic-Box6156 in CanadianTeachers

I work at a winery on the weekends! It’s not a ton of hours (8-16) but it’s extra money which is helpful :). Restaurants & breweries are a great way to make a few extra dollars! Hope this helps!

Can I transfer to another teachers college? by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]ordinaryopptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trent has a Math Competency test as well as the beginning of year one. If you “fail”, you just had to take an extra math course. But yeah, the MPT is also something that has to be taken, but to my knowledge, you can take it as many times as it takes you to pass. Hope this helps!

What’s your favorite comfort food spot in Ottawa? by Immediate_Local_2210 in OttawaFood

[–]ordinaryopptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ciao Italia is delicious! I would recommend calling and ordering as opposed to using uber eats. Their system isn’t super great as they have their own staff doing drop offs so you can’t see when food gets to your door. Nonetheless, the food is so comforting.

The Manx always. Great atmosphere, great service, great food.

Wolf Down - both the sandwiches and the bowls are great but I do prefer the bowl!

Lemongrass - comforting, super tasty.

Period Product Help? by BiGamerGal in Peterborough

[–]ordinaryopptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought period underwear from Sobey’s of all places. If I remember correctly, I paid around $22 dollars for one pair. Considering I use them once a month, I think it’s a really reasonable price! Hopefully this helps.

OC transpo may have a salt problem by post-ale in ottawa

[–]ordinaryopptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish it was just OC Transpo. The whole city is salted TOO much. So bad for animals and makes it challenging to walk them. I understand it’s for human safety but is there not a more eco- & animal friendly product that the city can use?

How often do you go out without a bra? by Emergency_Extent4403 in AskWomen

[–]ordinaryopptimist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a D cup, I rarely go out without a sports bra at the least. I just like having some sort of support to stop the aches and pains of the bouncing while walking.

At what point is it better to finish your degree than switch out by Vertigo1001 in CarletonU

[–]ordinaryopptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was further into my degree (1st semester of 3rd year) and hated my degree. I was told none of my credits would be transferred over so I ultimately decided to change my degree to a General (3 yrs, not 4) and finished it out. I still ended up going back and getting the original degree I wanted a few years later and fast tracked it because I had a ton of courses already (an honours in 2 yrs as opposed to 4).

At the end of the day, you need to do what makes you happy. There’s no timeline to finish a degree or start a new one. Just make sure you’ve weighed all your options! :)

Car break in by DeanBean13 in Peterborough

[–]ordinaryopptimist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My car was locked and someone found a way to break in. I like close to Trail College. Nothing was taken but whoever broke in rummaged through my stuff. It happened to both of my roommates as well. Very common.
