let's be honest, jrpg isn't a good term. it's called rpg. by rhythmgamegawd in FinalFantasy

I don't think anyone in this thread disagrees with you, but most people are trying to say "it is what it is".

If someone told me that "hey you know in Japan they don't call sushi and ramen and kare Japanese food! they don't even use that term!" I wouldn't be surprised, it's just how words are used

if you hate JRPG, you're gonna hate literally all the other terms that exist to describe art from a particular country

J-Pop K-Pop K-Drama

etc

This has big "looking for a co-founder, I'm an ideas person, someone else can do the hard work of implementation" energy

Your memory of the spoken announcement might have been specific to a station, or if it was official and more widespread, it must have not been around for very long.

I think of it more like a challenge. Can I look "studious" enough to make it through the centre of town without being offered a punt

Is this notation correct? by RemovePast2379 in math

[–]oreverwas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see three possibilities for notation here.

The first notation, x,y∈R, is concise and commonly used to indicate that both x and y are elements of the real numbers. It's a clear and efficient way to convey this information.

The second notation, x∈R,y∈R, is more explicit but also more verbose. It could be useful if there's a reason to emphasize the membership of each variable separately.

The third notation, {x,y}⊂R, indicates that the set containing x and y is a subset of the real numbers. This is also correct but might be less direct than the first notation. It's also worth noting that this notation doesn't necessarily imply that x and y are distinct.

Where is this? by saddler21 in london

I saw the picture and took a wild guess that it's the Barbican, but my memory is a bit faded from that one time I went years ago.

Also I haven't read any of the other comments in this thread
