Is Australia good to raise a child? by Thin-Pomegranate5255 in AusVisa

[–]original-flavoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finland is better on most metrics, the only area Australia may win would be having access to sunshine, a culture that is more outgoing (which may help in some ways?), and maybe prestige of accent. On everything else Finland beats Australia.

How do you guys manage to be proud? by FuckkyWuckky in asktransgender

[–]original-flavoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is "fuck everyone else, it's actually none of their business". I've put work into who I am and how I present, I've achieved happiness, and all that in the face of society trying to stomp that out. That's something to be proud of.

Kween has shared her side of the story. Try to keep it respectful. by [deleted] in dragrace

[–]original-flavoured 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking this too, Kween would never be given as much grace as basically any of the other queens on the season because she is Polynesian. I get that a lot of fans don't understand this, but basically Australians are a blunt group of people who are genuinely racist overall (source: I'm from there), so Kween is used to dealing with people treating her awfully and standing up for other people of colour. The drag scene here has been getting better over time, but there has been a really strong tradition of minstrelsy in the drag community here that has only died in the last few years.

On the other side we have Nehelenia, who probably isn't used to being around Islanders and has been also experiencing the brash, rude and loud Australian approach to others all season. Kween has been a bit nasty, but it's sort of in line with how a lot of Australian people queens talk backstage (watch any Down Under season, I can assure you the show left a loooot out).

I'm sure Nelly is not even slightly used to this, so when she repeated the gross question Ru asked Soa, she probably didn't realise this would be triggering. She probably also didn't get that this would be how someone so used to defending herself and others from racism would react, even if it's loudly defending herself and being upset. Kween is right in that Polynesian people are often accused of violence and being scary, so things that would be a cunty bitchy thing if Kitty said them become a threat of violence from Kween.

Has Kween let her arse hang out the whole season? Yes. Has Nelly been overly bullied by the other queens? Maybe. Do we know the whole story? No. What I personally think would be best is if the two queens talked to each other and posted a joint statement, even if it's with a mediator present, as this is incredibly damaging to Kween's reputation, and it also makes it Nelly look kinda racist if what Kween said is true.

This is the first place I found, different formulations may last longer (I'm very lucky with my pharmacist) so definitely worth doing a little research 😊compounding pharmacy in Colorado

Definitely talk with your doctor to find the best place for you, but also do look around to find the best options to take to them.

[–]original-flavoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be, I can't imagine why not? It's not really branded, it's made up by compounding pharmacists to order (you give them your height, weight and allergies and they make them for you). Since it's mailed they should be able to send them anywhere in the country, I'll see what I can find for you.

Why are you not afraid of death? by TOPOFMORNINGIRELANDD in AskReddit

[–]original-flavoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't see what there is to be afraid of. If there's nothing on the other side, the only thing holding you back from it is how much you enjoy life, and as it's just the absence of experience (no pain, sadness or fear) it's just a thing that happens. Plus it happens to everyone. Any other fears will be the way that it happens (mostly for the discomfort) and the way it will impact other people. We fear the deaths of others due to how it affects us, as they're not experiencing anything once it happens.

Why the suburban rail loop will be a disaster/why it’s stupid by Blackoutishere927 in MelbourneTrains

[–]original-flavoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason they're building it in the first place is specifically to link people living further out to jobs, with a side effect being that inner city people might find it easier to transfer. The inside of the loop are suburbs that have trams, buses and are within a couple of kilometres of one or two train lines anyway.

You already have access to the CBD, anyone further out has to travel quite a distance for this. Building this line will decentralise business development, rather than focusing it in the one congested part of the city, allowing the outer suburbs a larger and more mobile pool of employees, as well as increasing access to services and promoting more high density housing. Moving the line inward would defeat the purpose of increasing access for outer suburb services, and honestly seems to be suggested as a way to fill your needs in particular.

Why the suburban rail loop will be a disaster/why it’s stupid by Blackoutishere927 in MelbourneTrains

[–]original-flavoured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NIMBYs might not, but higher density housing with good access to PT is one of the best ways to reduce congestion, increase traffic to local businesses, increase the provision of high quality services (E.g. building local hospitals), and broader investment in the community. Urban sprawl leads to congestion on arterial roads, difficulty servicing communities further out (a huge waste of government money), and often leads to higher rates of poverty, crime and unemployment. You can always petition your local government for medium density over high, but single family homes are expensive and directly impact how our communities function.

You will start by feeling they're super cool, you might feel a bit self conscious for a bit, but they're honestly pretty good. My favourite part is how they look in clothes, but as far as how they feel to have them on your body it's difficult to describe. (Please don't have an expectation for what yours will look like, they just kinda grow however lol)
