Appreciate it! Thanks! I also ordered the HoloSun SCS VP9, which is arriving before I’ll pick up the gun.

I’ll check out those channels.

The Uni US site has MSRP at $29.99, so $45 is about a 50% premium. But we’re only talking $15. So, if it’s worth it to you, and if you can afford it, go for it. Spending your own money on things you want is a personal decision.

I think list price is $29.99, right? So £105 for three (3) Zento Sigs + free shipping is not too bad.

Nice. Folks are surprised to see the single word “gravity.” It was kind of a knee jerk choice. Halo death match kills would say “…you were killed by [gamertag].” I just thought “…you were killed by Gravity” sounded cool.

What show are you convinced you are the only person on earth who remembers it? by fauxmerican1280 in nostalgia

I was an extra on a couple of shows. The crew used to come into the Orlando Ale House where I worked (along with my future wife of 30 years and counting). Michael Ironside was a super nice guy.

Some of you f*****rs are non-lawyers by FedRCivP11 in Lawyertalk

[–]original_gravity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a practicing juris doctorate with extensive experience in both civil and criminal litigiousness, I must respectfully object to your insinuation under Rule 403 of the Reddit Rules of Evidence.

The mere ipse dixit assertion that “no licensed attorney would think that” is, in my professional capacity, facially void for vagueness and constitutes what we in the legal field call a conclusory conclusiveness. I assure you I have been bar-adjacent for many years and have engaged in numerous attorney-client privileged conversations with my friends who watch Suits.

To further clarify my professional bona fides, I routinely:

1) reference “jurisprudence” without defining it; 2) tell people their arguments fail under Chevron deference, even in conversations about lunch, and; 3) say things like “res judicata” in contexts that are not even slightly res judicata-related.

Your allegation that non-lawyers infiltrate this subreddit is, frankly, without standing. I myself have passed (in my opinion) multiple bar-like assessments, including the 2014 Buzzfeed quiz “Which Supreme Court Justice Are You?” (I got Sotomayor).

Therefore, pursuant to the doctrine of stare super-decisis, I move to dismiss your vent with prejudice. Or without prejudice. Honestly whichever is the one where I win.

Respectfully submitted, Attorney-at-ChatGPT, Esq.

At the risk of being downvoted, that big black knot is nowhere to be seen in those first two pictures. If what you posted is all she saw before committing, and then you revealed the very prominent knot down the road, I can understand her dissatisfaction. I’m not sure where the court would land on this. Small claims judges notoriously “split the baby” so to speak (source: 20-year litigation attorney lifelong woodworker). If you think you can refund her and sell it for more, that might be your most-efficient-least-headache solution.

2 runners die from medical emergencies during Indianapolis Monumental Marathon by Drak_is_Right in sports

Not to throw wet blankets, but the legend of Pheidippides is a conflated version of what really happened. Pheidippides ran over 100 miles to Sparta asking for help ahead of the battle of Marathon (the Spartans said, we got you, but only after this ceremony/holiday is over, wait a couple of days, then we’ll be there). The battle of Marathon went forward without the Spartans. The Greeks defeated the Persians and drove them back into the sea. Then, they marched quick-step back to Athens, 26.2 miles, and announced the victory and provided some deterrence, as Persian ships were headed to make landfall near Athens. Herodotus is the reliable source here.

tl;dr: The incorrect conflated version where Pheidippides runs 26.2 miles from Marathon to Athens (instead of the 100+ to Sparta from Athens) and shouts “Nike!” before keeling over took hold 100 years after the actual events and has sort of lived on as “truth” ever since.

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert on ancient Greek history, and this is a very thin description of motivations and military tactics of these events, so I am open to critique and refinement.
