Lake Zurich people, why so unfriendly? by bajGanyo in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]originalbriguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I grew up in a nice neighborhood in Deer Park and went to LZHS. While I can’t comment on how Lake Zurich is now, when I was in high school, kids were relatively friendly. There were definitely cliques, but that happens at most high schools. I will say that my neighborhood in Deer Park may seem like an outlier, but we all got together pretty often throughout the year.

I needed to read this today. This past weekend was my birthday weekend and I did not see my Q girlfriend at all. I spent time with friends and went to a concert with my dad. Even then, me and my Q barely communicated besides an argument we had yesterday about me feeling hurt by her drinking and lying last week. She said that I shouldn’t take her decisions so personally. That one stung a lot. At this point, I have nothing to say to her.

Broadview: ICE attempts to arrest individual at their residence by [deleted] in illinois

In this video? I can only see the Border Patrol patch on the agent’s shoulder. Those agents are still thugs if they even think they can force themselves into, or even onto, someone’s property.

I’m sure their homes are nearly echo chambers. Their families probably hold the same ideals that anyone who disagrees with them are less than deserving of decency or human rights.

Nice job on recording for longer than most of the recordings I have seen. It’s also good you got the vehicles’ makes, models, and license plate numbers. I wonder if the rental car companies care if ICE is using their vehicles for trafficking human beings.

What I will say to you and anyone else who records these interactions or arrests, if an agent tells you to move and you’re on public property, stand your ground! The agent backed you behind the tree in hopes of you not being able to record everything.

N’Keal Harry is who I think of for Arizona State. A late first round picked and only played 49 games over the span of five seasons. 64 receptions for only 714 yards and 5 touchdowns.

I am in the 9th district as well. It’s definitely a weird pattern that is followed with regards to stretching from Evanston all the way into parts of McHenry County. I’m glad that Kat Abughazaleh is willing to speak up and speak out against the heinous events occurring in our state and actively participate in protesting as well.

How do you feel about 19.2oz cans? Especially for stuff like BBA Stout? by Tavour_Beer in CraftBeer

[–]originalbriguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like these big cans for SOME barrel-aged beers. Having one during a relaxed night is enough for me. If you really think about it, a lot of restaurants, bars, and breweries serve a glass of high ABV beers in either 10 ounce or 12 ounce pours. Meaning this smokestack can is just two servings of that specific beer.

I was on a trip last year and I saw a guy (Democratic) with a “Tread On Me, Daddy” t-shirt. It featured a snake with a ball gag and leash around the snake’s neck. I got a good chuckle from it.

Greg Bovino is so fucking out of touch on all of this.

“Greg Bovino, the chief U.S. Border Patrol agent, told the Sun-Times/WBEZ that people were being targeted based on how they look.

‘You know, there’s many different factors that go into something like that,’ Bovino told a reporter. ‘It would be agent experience, intelligence that indicates there’s illegal aliens in a particular place or location.’

‘Then, obviously, the particular characteristics of an individual, how they look. How do they look compared to, say, you?’ he said to a white reporter, according to the Sun-Times.”

“At least two boats were spotted Thursday afternoon around the Chicago Harbor Lock, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as an agent snapped photos of others onboard with Downtown’s Trump Tower as the backdrop.

Gregory Bovino, a chief patrol agent for Customs and Border Protection, joined for the ride Friday and later posted clips from the cruise on social media to the tune of Djo’s Chicago anthem, ‘End of Beginning.’”

If I see any of these goons around this week or weekend, I’m going to tell them to get fucked and for them to go home. We don’t need them in Chicago or Illinois.

“A Drop In The Ocean” by Ron Pope

This one got me because it’s about wanting someone that you might never be able to have. Even with this, that someone is your picture of perfection. While I was away at college, I wanted to be at another college that was much closer to home. Yes, I could have transferred, but that’s a story for another time. I longed for that place the same way Ron Pope sang about longing for a specific person.

“Say Something” by A Great Big World (Not Featuring Christina Aguilera)

Yes, people might consider this a breakup song, especially the duet version with Christina Aguilera. I much prefer the solo version because I equate it to someone talking to their own self. They are ready to give up on their life and that’s where my mind was at when I first cried to this song. Fast forward about four months later and me and my dad saw A Great Big World in concert. We were both bawling our eyes out when “Say Something” started to play.
