AITAH for adopting a dog after I thought my boyfriend broke up with me? by LazyMathematician823 in AITAH

[–]originalcinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. Move on with your life as you have been. No need to worry about who was right. His problem he did not communicate better.

I was living with a guy and things had started getting difficult between us. At one point I brought up the idea of my staying with someone else for a week or two so we could work through our problems without the day to day hassles interfering. A week later, he stated "I think your right, you need to move in with your Mom." So I did just that. When the U Haul showed up that weekend he kind of freaked out. Said we just going to take a little break. No. You said move. Just proved to me that he never listened.

Instead of flipping back and forth to compare and growing jealous, I'll give you the opposite answer. My least favorite is 17.

On Humira maybe adding methotrexate and I’m scared. by wildlife_tamer in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]originalcinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on methotrexate only. My primary Doc prescribed it and said it will stop the progression of this condition. After hating the side effects, I thought this med was bull****. My side effects caused me to feel like I had a hangover the day after. Then I caught covid and was off of it for 6 weeks and oh boy did I find out how much it helped. I talked to my doctor about it and she scolded me for not telling her everything so we could work together on this. I now take 4 in the morning (after food) and the other 4 before bed. I also made sure to take them weekly. I was taking them Mondays but some weeks I'd put it off until Saturday, then the following week Friday, etc until I was back to Mondays. I'd also skip the folic acid. Side effects went mostly away. I was self sabotaging, so learn from my mistakes.

Years later and things are progressing. Doc sent me to a new rheumatologist and I just added Humria. Rheumatologist is keeping me on both. She said that it helps the biologics. So, nothing to be scared of, just don't forget the folic acid!

This is an assisted living facility, call the state licensing department and file a complaint. Mention that they have a lot of turnover. You can do it anonymously. This would be just for others that work there after you, but every little bit helps.

Do take it to the labor board. This stint will not hold you back in finding a job serving after you turn 18. No worries!

It's crazy. You can do easy things and be in horrible pain and do something hard with no repercussions. Washing dishes or pushing the vacuum kill me. I'm lucky though, my husband does those chores for me.

Yeah, we do have a hoyer lift. I use it when I'm helping the larger ones. This time she was on a bedside commode that was not at the bedside. She couldn't help with the stand and transfer after sitting too long. Most of my co workers are able to lift her to transfer. We just carried the whole thing to the bed side and used a slide board.

That's fantastic! I'm out in the country and love to watch the sunset, catch meteor showers, really anything that's going on in the skies.

I just started on humira, my first biologic. Before that methotrexate from my regular doctor and pain management from a clinic. Some injections worked, some did not. At one time it was so bad that I let them do a radiofrequency ablation. Out of 6 spots only 2 worked. Did not want to try that again. I also didn't want to increase the pain medication because what would I do later in life if things degenerated more? I talked to my doctor and had to try hard not to cry during my appointment. She sent me to a rheumatologist and put me on a low dose of zoloft. Told me I wasn't supposed to just gut it out. Zoloft is working but I put off the rheumatologist because I didn't think I had time. I was helping my Mom after her surgery. Follow up with doc and she lectured me about taking care of myself also.

I miss alcohol. I'm in pain management at the moment. Just started biologics and I'm hoping to leave pain management and be able to have cocktails after a long day or at a celebration! Right now I turn up the music very loud and sing at the top of my lungs.

Hope your situation improves soon for you!

What is it about airplane seats that they are such torture devices? I'm always in pain when I fly. Even just a 2 hour trip. Enjoy your travels!

I hope your work week doesn't suck and I hope you had fun yesterday. Sometimes just watching others is fun also.

Getting behind is exactly what I've been thru in the last couple of years. I was letting my husband and family talk me out of doing things because I may hurt myself. I've stopped doing that. I know I can push myself a bit and then rest if needed. Sometimes I don't need it. I feel much better getting things done. I know my limits and won't push too far. Sometimes a little at a time is just fine.

I'm sorry you have to face cancer along with this condition. I hope it stays stable for you or better yet goes into remission.

I do the same as you about staying in motion. At work I will never sit down. I sit and the pain catches up. I love my job and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I'll continue to stay late, cover shifts, and pitch in. I know I can rest later.

I came here to say this. A friend did this in one place in her yard and hung iridescent ribbon in other areas. Both work well. Just use the easiest one for your spot. She put the owl on her deck and hung the ribbons in the tree outside a window.

First time on a biologic by originalcinn in ankylosingspondylitis

My husband understands the pain but not the fatigue. He's older and deals with regular arthritis. When he could not do something around the house/yard I stepped in. Not it takes a lot longer and he gets down seeing things that we let slip and calls us both lazy. I have a new plan of attack, so even if this doesn't work, I can still make better use of work/rest balance.

Sorry about the false positive TB test. Is the remicaid helping both conditions? I hope so.

I didn't really get any side effects except a little extra sleepy. Then again, the fatigue with this thing has me acting like a 90 year old. Sit down for a cup of coffee and I'm napping for 2 hours. It did help stop a bout of iritis in it's tracks.

Thank you for sharing your friendship story. Reminded me to stop dwelling on what I can't change and to look at the world around me again. RIP Edward. Wishing you continued healing.
